Hatch Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 I know it's been opposed in the past, but does anyone have any real issues if the stadium becomes sponsored. Surely a few more pennies in the pot outweighs anything else in these times. Presumably this has already been looked into anyway by those in charge.

A good idea but what kind of pleb will hand over money just to see a big circle of plastic and bricks named after their business?

norwaysaint Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Maybe our bigger, more successful neighbours, Portsmouth Football Club, could sponsor our stadium.
Fan The Flames Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Brightons old sponser is available, Skint.
Psycrow Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 The Zavi St. Mary's Stadium? Just not quite as witty...or in business...as it used to be
1976_Child Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Well I've always wanted Richard Branson to buy the club. Then we could call the stadium the "Virgin Mary Stadium". Could make some extra cash on the side by sub-letting to the local Catholic church....

JohnnyFartPants Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Why don't we call the stadium something that reminds us of the football played within? How about The Spasticated Mong Child Stadium of P1SS?

Flyer Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Trouble is, once the stadium is open, the clubs lose a huge amount of money as for example, everyone will know it as SMS no matter who sponsors it so they wont get value for money. Somewhere like the emirates is known as that throughout football and the sponsors get a huge exposure and will pay for that.
1976_Child Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 (edited) How about "St Mary's Stadium..." Edited 7 January, 2009 by 1976_Child

Back in the year 2000, I suggested to Rupert Lowe that if he could get Dell Computers to sponsor the stadium, then we could continue to call our home "The Dell". He advised me that the Club had already thought of that and Dell Computers were not interested!
