Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Forster and Bertrand start on the bench. No rooney. I just dont buy it with him in a 'deeper' role. But the pundits are falling over themselves to say he is brilliant there
LainPain Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Forster and Bertrand start on the bench. No rooney. I just dont buy it with him in a 'deeper' role. But the pundits are falling over themselves to say he is brilliant there Would have been impressed if Rooney had played two days in row . Agree though, just like Gerrard playing deep, it doesn't work when naturally attacking players play that role at international level. Would be nice for England to line up with two genuine, defensively aware central midfielders for once. Rooney should just be a flexible option who can play in a few attacking positions.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 (edited) Forster and Bertrand start on the bench. No rooney. I just dont buy it with him in a 'deeper' role. But the pundits are falling over themselves to say he is brilliant there To play him at all is a joke, he is just so poor for most of the time and very ordinary at his best now And the walking injury that is Wilshire starts.......it's a favourites club and always will be Edited 22 May, 2016 by ALWAYS_SFC
simo Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Am I the only one not impressed by Rose and his good half a season ?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Am I the only one not impressed by Rose and his good half a season ? Nope I agree This is going to be no more than a spurs\ Liverpool love in
Lighthouse Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Am I the only one not impressed by Rose and his good half a season ? More impressive than Sterling and his no halves of a good season.
Smirking_Saint Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Am I the only one not impressed by Rose and his good half a season ? Pretty much Decent player, not a lot of change between him or bertrand with the bonus that there is a bunch of spurs players there. Decent options. Id have Clyne over walker but again the spurs connection is a winning one Shame Welbeck isnt around, adds balance to the front line, will be interesting to see if Sterling finds any form. Wilshere is arguably our best midfielder when fully fit, if he is fit enough Id take him. As for rooney, he looks better in midfield these days but we have more than enough options upfront and in midfield that should all play before he does
Lighthouse Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 You'd be furious if that goal was given against us.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 great play by alli. easily offside. you could see on real time lol alli will be shunted deeper to make room for Rooney
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 1-1 rose gets done there. You could tell from his reaction that he knows it too
LeBizzier69 Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 One of the worst selections is, yet again, Clive Tydesley.
Nordic Saint Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Rose gets done and wtf was Hart up to. Rose is a reasonable attacking player but an awful defender. If he played for Stoke rather than Spurs, he'd be nowhere near the England team.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 wilshere looks way off the pace so far. should cement his place in the 23
Chalkboy Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 One of the worst selections is, yet again, Clive Tydesley. He is shocking. Less sh*t than Drury though. Small mercies an' all that.
Lighthouse Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Motty is the worst for me. Some of his comments are bordering on senile, then he just sit there chuckling to himself. Jonathan Pearce is probably my favourite, although that's mainly due to Robot Wars.
Toomer Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Rose is a reasonable attacking player but an awful defender. If he played for Stoke rather than Spurs, he'd be nowhere near the England team. And I'll put money on it he'll get the nod instead of Ryan Bertrand.
Saint_clark Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Wilshere and Rooney set to be one of the most overhyped/underperforming midfield partnerships in history for this tournament. Kane taking all freekicks...get him in the box if he isn't shooting for ****s sake.
Chalkboy Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Someone tell Glennda to STF up. Bring back Andy "that's better" Townsend?
LeBizzier69 Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Be nice if ITV introduced a "commentary on/off" feature.
VectisSaint Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Be nice if ITV introduced a "commentary on/off" feature. Just "off" is all thats needed.
Chalkboy Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 The Spurs lads still look mentally ****ed tbh. Can see at least one of them getting red-carded in the Euros.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 why is ian wright saying sterling is playing well?
Saint_clark Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 why is ian wright saying sterling is playing well? Probably nodded off till he made his run late in the first half.
doddisalegend Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Imagine England's defence up against a good team at the euros that we've only conceded 1 seems to be more luck than anything else.
Smirking_Saint Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 why is ian wright saying sterling is playing well? No idea, been aweful, complete passenger
Lighthouse Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 No idea, been aweful, complete passenger Well Rooney's performance yesterday was, "praised in all quarters," according to Tyldsley. I swear it's like the Emperor's New Clothes with England sometimes.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 (edited) got to love hoddle 'Rose is a good, patient defender'......really? 'Kane's penalty, although he didnt score, it was a positive penalty'......WTF? Edited 22 May, 2016 by Batman
LeBizzier69 Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 As always, any half decent side will tear us a new one.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 Rose is Hoddle's MoM seriously, what the fuking hell? I know we could be biased because of Bertrand and all that but this is weird.!!!
bpsaint Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Glad Vardy scored, will make Woy look even more clueless and inept when he drops him for Rooney come the Euros. Friendly or not this has been a **** poor display by England, how the hell Sterling or Wilshere are anywhere near the team is a joke. When will ever get an England manager with the balls to pick a team on form rather than club.
Donatello Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 He's only put in one cross (which was blocked), hasn't he? Rose, that is. Kyle Walker has had a far better game than Rose.
Saint_clark Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 One positive i can find - Henderson and Drinkwater have looked better in midfield than Wilshere and Sterling.
Dark Munster Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 I think Glenda confuses m.o.m. with worst player on the pitch. An understandable mistake.
Toomer Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Danny Rose MOM, really Glenn? It was always going to be a Spurs player with that **** Hoddle as co commentator.
Dig Dig Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Walkers even been better in this game. Hoddle is a moron.
Katalinic Posted 22 May, 2016 Posted 22 May, 2016 Liking Vardy and Kane up front. Rose MOTM is laughable. The team should be built around Alli with Rooney nowhere near it.
Batman Posted 22 May, 2016 Author Posted 22 May, 2016 bit of a mixed bag performance. Vardy is utterly wasted out wide (we all knew that anyway) Wilshere was no where. Probably means he is a cert for the squad Sterling was awful. This reflects his season. probably a cert for the squad I thought Rose was average at best. not a good defender but very quick Walker was my MoM. good performance and will probably start Kane was good. Not liking him taking the set pieces but he wont anyway come the real deal vardy is miles better central but how on earth rose was MoM over some of the others out there is just plain weird. Yet the pundits will lap it up, talk about how it was great to see Wilshere get some 'minutes' and how well Sterling played. Throw in their comments on what a worthy MoM Rose was. jesus
