Ron Koeman

The talks are about whether they can talk. That means agreeing compensation and I just get a feeling Saints may set it stupidly high. Where did the £3m come from? Probably Everton, bring what they'd expect to pay.

After all, Everton have done nothing but brag about how much money they've got, and how much they can pay Ron, so how about we suggest a bit more? £10m?

There will be a point where it would be cheaper for Koeman to buy out his own contract though.

Not really worried about Koeman leaving. I personally wouldnt mind getting in Eddie Howe on a long term deal maybe he would embrace our youth options more...

If they're not good enough, then there's not much point in embracing them. We've been there before.

I hope that if Koeman does turn them down, we go over to their forum and gloat en mass. I was wrong to say we were being out of order to that Everton fan yesterday... F()ck it, it'll be funny flicking the bird to the blue bin dippers

#saintsfc & Everton are in talks over Koeman - fact - next up will be the 'official' request for permission to speak to him #EFC

1 season. Don't bring it over two seasons.

We lost 2 players last year, that was it.

1 freak pre-season, don't make it into more than it was.

Toby, Morgan and Clyne were just as big losses. We lost Paul Mitchell too. That's a lot and now Koeman. Wanyama and mane for sure too. You were the one that was messaging me saying things were gonna be awful after Cortese you have changed ur tune. This is a massive nightmare for club. Don't dress it up as nothing big.

This agent stuff is ********, he is a grown man not a puppet, he doesn't need an agent to say no.

It will be a shame if it happens, but i think we've proven over the last 2 years that we can respond to set backs, we've got a structure in place that will enable us to go again whatever happens. If it happens, it happens. Bring on the new manager and a fantastic opportunity in Europe next year.

Toby wasn't our player, cannot include him in any exodus. Of course morgan and Clyne were losses, but it wasn't of the level as the year before - hence that year being a 1 off really.

I like RK and his bro - For all the success they have had, they seem down to earth, hard working, smart, funny and honest.

However the same thing can be said of our current Board of Directors... They have brought success and financial stability to our club

I trust they will do right by SFC and all of us, as fans...

COYS!!!

I love reading this forum, because I love all things Saints, and I know and value all posters who take the time to go to great lengths to explain their personal views and then expand on them frequently (and sometimes contradict themselves in the process). Most fans I know amongst both friends and family, season ticket holders and occasional match go-ers would agree with the above 100%

It's still Koemans decision tho, and I still don't get why ? ok, the money but we must be offering a bloody good wage, but surely he must take into account his brother, Sammy Lee, Dave Watson, and he must know he's onto a good thing here or is there another agenda ?

Would people have preferred Palace and Stoke to finish 12 or 20 points ahead of us and Everton poaching Hughes or Pardew and we keep Koeman or the situation we have now?

Asking for a friend on death row currently making a similar choice.

Funny time to change your agent though.

I honestly believe his talk of us showing ambition etc at the end of the season was just to buy himself some time.

He sacked his agent as there was not enough on the table brought out from Everton

Now a new agent has got more ££££

Cortese would have sorted the Toby deal out a long time before Spurs came in. We've done well cos we have excellent manager that's why and he's going.

Nope, would just prefer to keep the manager who has led us to record points hauls, record placing, Europe twice and all with a net transfer spend... if that's not too much to ask.

Thought this would be the case.

Which does bode well for us moving forward without him: he made statements about being ambitious and Saints needing to match his ambitions; which it would appear we did. At least until something else changed his mind. Perhaps 7m somethings.

That piece in Echo is pathetic PR spin from Saints. At the end of the day saints just bend over and take it with out so much of a fight. Koeman is a **** but **** sake saints grow some balls

Yeah, it scream of PR spin - club couldn't do any more, we look great etc etc. But.....what are we supposed to do? are we bending over, or are we being sensible by deciding not to overpay on a manager who isn't 100% committed long term? I think if that's the case and his head was seemingly turned by a club lower down in the league due to $$$, it kinda says something about him more than it does about us - in my opinion.

He quite clearly wasn't happy with the deal on the table, that's why he got a new agent...

RK has behaved appallingly in this. I don't expect loyalty from every player and manager and for them to spend their entire careers with us, but I do expect them to behave with some integrity and honesty, and to treat the club with some respect. RK on more than one occasion said he would be our manager next season when asked directly about Everton's interest and yet he's now in advanced talks with them.

****ing poor from him

he has decided to go and there is nothing we can do to change that. This is totally about saying to Keoman that you need to quit so that we can at least gain a decent pay off.

If he has decided that he wants out what can we do? force him to stay and expect him to be 100% commited to our cause? he is chasing the money and has shown his true colours.

In this case what would be 'fight'?

Us matching Everton's offer?

And we end up employing the sixth highest paid manager in the world..........how does that fit with the very clear ethos of the club, as set out by the person who saved it?

Love him or loath him, but at these times we could do with Cortese in charge. He made his mistakes, but its hard to find someone better at the club in negotiating with other clubs.

I'm not a fan of the board but I just want this done now. I suppose, in the cold light of day, it'll be hard to justify paying a manager several million more than some of the players, deservedly or not. Imagine the contract wrangling that'd create if some of the players kicked up.

Didn't realise Everton's offer was going to do that.

He's good but he isn't that good.

Wonder where he will rank in PL manager wages if he does go to Everton.
