The everton fans are unbelievable. I honestly wasn't bothered about them before, didn't really notice them. Nice established PL club, but christ on a bike they're like their big brother. Totally deluded about everything, not just football.

They have likely just poached our Manager so in some ways they were right about them being a far bigger club.

Reed said recently we lose players to the biggest clubs. Should be the same in this case. Not Everton.

But the wild-card is the new share-holder, Charlie. His plan might well blow ours out of the water for all we know.

There's an assumption on the Everton forum that they've got him, but nothing convincing.

there hasn't been anything convincing since this all blew up 24hrs ago.

I think their 'Guan' or 'k,billy' equivalent has said it's done. (not sure on the history of the poster tbh).

But the fact some of t heir fans are coming out with garbage like

''Underwhelmed''

''Chance to make a statement. We failed''

Seriously, who the **** do they think they are? Get a little bit of money and they all get excited. They actually thought Simeone or Jose were realistic. Wake up toffee's.

Still 4/9 with some bookies. Everyone lump 900 on for 400 profit. It's obviously done, easy money.

Yep. Strange. They normally suspend in an instant if there's a sniff of firm news.

Everton Forum:

'Oh, and for anyone who might doubt The Esk's [an Everton ITK] credentials on this, he confirmed to us it was Koeman in our GOT moderator WhatsApp group at 7.34pm this evening.'

until i see Koeman genuinely holding an Everton shirt I've decided I will remain patient.

have to say some are so patronising. mate football is a rotten game at times.

If they have got Ron then he will be the object of much merriment and schadenfreude on the Defectors Watch thread for a year or so.

Everton are a failing club and will be more of a mess than Iraq and for longer. Dinosaur club with serious structural problems. A decade to turn them around.

Even if he goes they won't finish above us next season and we'll have someone decent lined up. We're an attractive proposition.

Why wouldn't RK see that and not wish to remain part of it then?

Apart from the possibility of doubling his salary.

Everton are offering Koeman:

- £7m per season

- £100m budget

- 100% of whatever Lukaku goes for

- new stadium guarantee

Kenwright confident that by Monday that Koeman will be their new boss.

I want Koeman to stay too but even I wouldn't pay Koeman £7m honestly.

also, don't him and his brother get the same wage? did i read that somewhere?

Well we can't compete with that. If that's what they're offering, let them get on with it. It happens.

With current FFP rules, owners can't just come in and offer huge transfer fees and wages can they? Thought that was the whole point.

Not sure why people are acting like he's leaving anyway. Seen managers at 1/5 a few times and still not end up there. People get very bored in the close season...especially during England games.

I don't know anymore Adrian. They used to mean that - But the rules seem to have been relaxed for certain clubs. Maybe I've got that wrong.

Hm, looks like there was a meeting, but I'd be surprised if Koeman's agreed to move without talking to us and giving us a chance to give him a counter-offer.

That would test anyone's loyalty. But note the report still only says this will be offered and they're confident it will do the job. In fact they seem confident that money can get whatever and whoever they want. We'll see.

If he goes, it's a backward step for him in every way except money.

It'll be hilarious if they end up like Villa or QPR. It takes more than big signings to achieve success. It will take them years to get to the same sort of organisation we have behind the scenes.

Article says that if we agree to a deal Ron and agent will go to Merseyside this weekend.

But aren't they there already?

Nah, no point making desperate counter offers. We should not be offering any manager 7m a year.

Blimey if he holds out till Sunday he'll probably be the world's highest paid manager. The salary seems to be going up £1 million per article.

If that's on offer, and he takes it, his departure is nothing to do with:

Lazy useless Les Reed

"Kat's summer plan"

Lack of ambition

Us selling players

Not backing the manager

Not convincing Koeman of our ambition

Our lack of resolve

Not tying him down earlier

etc etc

It's just silly money and off he goes.

He's not worth wages of a manager who can win the league, and frankly Everton could as likely be the next QPR/Shinawatra Man City rather than the next Mansur Man City.

Our next manager will be a big name and we move on.

Posted

If true, that would be crazy money for him to turn down.

Who knows, but this project from Everton sounds a little over enthusiastic and gung-ho for long term success. We'll have to wait and see.

Yet katrina is richer than their owner.

Where does FFP sit with this?

Guaranteed new stadium?! Hmmmmmm. Not sure moving stadium is quite that straightforward. And anyhow, is that a factor really? Is Ron a closet architect?

Bit of a strange article really.

That doesn't mean we should be throwing stupid money at people, just to keep them. I don't see that as a way to get sustained success, seems like a very quick way to get 'quick wins' in the short-term.

If it happens, we will go again.

Reed 'It was a too good an offer of compensation for Southampton to turn down.'

"We tried our hardest to get this over the line"

It'll be the same old **** from him if it happens.
