CB Fry Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 Please tell me all who think Barca is too much of a big jump for him, what major clubs Rijkaard Tito Pep and Enrique managed before Barca ? Indeed. He could get the Barca job, hr has Barca pedigree in spades. However it might be too late - it should have been his first or second job, as a fresh untarnished boss. shurlock Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 But even bigger from Everton Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk Everton are a bigger club and have a higher ceiling than us, especially if you believe reports about the funds being made available to the next manager. We'll be lucky to finish top 6 next season (though it's not impossible), so if there's anytime for Koeman to cash in, it's now. Would Arsenal really want him next season if we finish top 10, however perfectly respectable that might be. Thats not saying there aren't risks with Everton. In the short-term, they arguably have a lower floor than us, so he could easily f**k up given the rebuild that's necessary there. But any manager who is confident in their ability will be thinking about the upside, not obsessing about the downside.

Toon Saint Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 There is a growing confidence at Southampton that the old order so rudely shaken up by Leicester City is changing for them too. For instance, Everton’s interest in appointing Ronald Koeman was considered so unlikely to tempt the Southampton manager that key figures at the club cannot recall there even being a meeting about it. The polite answer being that they would not expect to lose a player to Everton, and certainly not their manager. Whatever the outcome, seems a bit daft to plant this in the Torygraph before a new contract was even sorted.

Suhari Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 So what are the factual updates in the past few hours? Has it been confirmed that someone has gone up to Liverpool? Do we know who? (Original report said the agent, yet some here are saying Ron). Anything further on the Liverpool News article that said the owner and chairman are in London today anyway? Or are we flapping over rumours and hearsay?

BUT despite a few on here, forcing it down everyone's throat that "this is all about the money" nothing is further from the truth. I seriously doubt this is a salary thing for Koeman, it's about being made aware of Kat's summer plans and him quite possibly and plain simply saying not for me. You will struggle to find a more genuine and loyal figure than Koeman in the modern game. A man of values and integrity. The fact remains even before Everton started making noises, Koeman had already laid his cards out on the table and marked out his position about sales and investment. This ain't looking good for Kat and Les if Koeman goes.

SaintRobbie Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 I'm guessing the Board will do something like get Benitez and two Les players called Redmond and Townsend. Then it will become clear Koeman has no control over player purchases. We'll see what happens. St Chalet Posted 2 June, 2016 Share Posted 2 June, 2016 Club put out article saying they think done deal, agent re-ignites Everton link. It would be an odd move for Koeman. We will replace him well I am sure but the message it sends out is we've hit our glass ceiling.
