Saint Charlie Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Few bits of chatter that he is "interested". Doubt it would happen personally but if he did see that as a good move it would say quite a lot about our ambition. Will be nice once they have appointed someone. Would be nicer if he came out in his presser tomorrow and said he isn't interested.
alpine_saint Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Seriously, if we lost him to that shambles it suggests the club is just going through the motions - with soundbites.
TwoPints Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 I very much doubt Koeman will get involved in commenting on this. IMHO it's all ********
Pilchards Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Koeman will honour his contract unless he is pushed. No way will he go to Everton unless Southampton Football Club sacked him.
saint77 Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Koeman will honour his contract unless he is pushed. No way will he go to Everton unless Southampton Football Club sacked him. Agree with this
Sheaf Saint Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Few bits of chatter that he is "interested". Where? Any links?

Pilchards Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Where? Any links? A random guy on Twitter ha ha. I could start one of those too.
Bewildered Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Whatever happens, I don't think he will be here on the first day of next season. Doubt he will or ever intended to extend his deal and if the club is embarking on a new five year plan and/or going in a mysterious new direction then that is hard to do if you know the manager is only here for the short term.
Surman4no7shirt Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 It's on the back page of the Guardian, Telegraph and Mirror tomorrow.

Whitey Grandad Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 It's on the back page of the Guardian, Telegraph and Mirror tomorrow. Speculation, it's what they do.
Turkish Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Joey Barton said Everton should go for him on talksport earlier. So the "chatter" he is on about is one Bellend talking nonsense on the radio. Still give Charlie another chance to peddle his agenda.

Bewildered Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Speculation, it's what they do. Given that all those papers have the story with the same bit about a 100m transfer fund, suggests Everton have briefed the press about it.
Plastic Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Few bits of chatter that he is "interested". You need to do a bit better than this Charlie.
Graffito Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Koeman will honour his contract unless he is pushed. No way will he go to Everton unless Southampton Football Club sacked him. Les Read when asked at the awards last how well Koeman had done answered "ok". Camera moves to a stony faced Koeman. Maybe a joke that fell flat but Koeman didn't look impressed.
Surman4no7shirt Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Given that all those papers have the story with the same bit about a 100m transfer fund, suggests Everton have briefed the press about it. Either a source at Everton or Koeman's agent have briefed them.

Surman4no7shirt Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Also on the Sun and Times... Someone's been busy.
Pamplemousse Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Standard press move. Create rumour and drum up interest, ready for the press conference. We'll know the real answer tomorrow.
Pamplemousse Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Anyone reckon Everton want Koeman? All of this has come from the Everton end. They want to destabilise us clearly. Us losing to Palace and not getting European football would be in their best interests clearly.
Saint Benali Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Nah mate its all press and bookies rumours. ......

Just the Times, Mail, Mirror, Guardian and Telegraph as well.
doddisalegend Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Joey Barton said Everton should go for him on talksport earlier. So the "chatter" he is on about is one Bellend talking nonsense on the radio. Still give Charlie another chance to peddle his agenda. Actually the show after that some Everton fan phoned up saying they should go for Koeman and the guests questioned why Koeman would want to leave a club like Southampton for a club like Everton....
doddisalegend Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Anyone reckon Everton want Koeman? I read the other day that Arsenal want Koeman....
doddisalegend Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 pffft 100 million in todays PL market that's like three players..
Diabolus Ex Machina Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 We've all heard about how he's happy to see out his contract though Saints want him to extend so not out of the realms of possibility he could move on if an agreement can't be reached. Would seem an odd choice for him when you normally hear names like the dutch national team, Arsenal or even Barca mooted as future jobs for him though. I also wonder if that £100m touted includes money gotten when Chelsea come calling for Stones again and Lukaku tries to head to a Champs league club.
Bewildered Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 100 million that some of these reports say will be largely funded by selling Lukaku and Stones.
Saints foreva Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 pffft 100 million in todays PL market that's like three players.. Thing is though, it's more than he will get here.
nta786 Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 pffft 100 million in todays PL market that's like three players.. It even says 'depending on the departure of the players'. All speculated rubbish. His net spend won't be more than £30m. My opinion is that he will see out his three year deal, signing a 1 year extension this summer to quash all rumours, but he'll leave next year. Koeman has spent plenty of money under us anyway.
Whitey Grandad Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 pffft 100 million in todays PL market that's like three players.. Did I hear in MOTD that Newcastle spent £50m in January? Which three players will it be, Mané, Wanyama and Long?
Saint_Ash Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 I want lots of things, doesn't mean I'm going to get them. This smacks of Everton trying to get to Ron through the media. Ain't gonna happen.

alpine_saint Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Clearly going to be another long summer. No doubt our board will say f**k-all as the media eviscerate our club once again.
saint77 Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Thing is though, it's more than he will get here. He's spent 100 mill here already
Bewildered Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Did I hear in MOTD that Newcastle spent £50m in January? Which three players will it be, Mané, Wanyama and Long? They spent £80m (75m net) and got relegated because they wasted it on players who are lazy, dross or both.
CB Fry Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Clearly going to be another long summer. No doubt our board will say f**k-all as the media eviscerate our club once again. Have a Wispa and calm down.
Saints foreva Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 He's spent 100 mill here already I assumed it was without the sell of players.
southamptonfc Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 I can see Koeman leaving at some point to manage the Dutch side, Barcelona, Man U etc but Everton? hahaha why would he want to go there? He has MUCH better options.
Pamplemousse Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 I supposed that means the Zlatan deal is off then...
bennyev Posted 12 May, 2016 Posted 12 May, 2016 Could work out in our favour - Koeman is a wanted man. Our board has to back him.
