Pilchards Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + Big Ron getting the team playing well. Shane Long looking like a premiership player at last. VVD signing an extended contract. Our front line is so exciting to watch. - No promising young players pushing for a starters place. Cedric Soares not becoming a regular RB. Jayrod situation is worrying. Charlie Austin is injury prone.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 (edited) + Koeman showing again he is a class Manager and can work out how to turn around poor runs of form Long giving us some pace and energy up front which has given us a different dimension Return of Forster VVD showing he is as good as Alderweireld IMO Lots of home goals - Koeman' seeming reluctance to stay longer term European fiasco More than half of summer signings being disappointing Poor away performances against bottom half teams costing an outside chance of a top 4 finish Edited 12 May, 2016 by Saint Charlie
Ice2Eskimos Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 I absolutely RUE anyone to find a negative in the season we've just had. We've equalled our record. We can all look at the negatives...but imho it's pointless. There aren't really any negatives apart from our own expectations as individual fans possibly being a bit unrealistic. And to have a pop at Austin is a bit early. Yes, he's injury prone and we knew it..but lest we forget, he did cost us the price of a pizza in BPL terms. He nearly went for £15M 6 months earlier. THERE IS A REASON WE GOT HIM FOR £4M. Jesus..
Pamplemousse Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + Continuing to progress, albeit slowly. But progress is positive nonetheless. Not ending the season with a slump in form, actually ending it with our best performances of the season rather than fading away - When we play sh!t, we are well and truly sh!t Disappointing run in Europe
lickierambert Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + The wins against Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal. They were all, in their own way, brilliant. A greater squad depth and tactical flexibility. We are as resourceful as we've been since the 80's Long and VVD Forster and J Rod returning from long term injuries - The cup exits were all terrible, but for different reasons The nagging sense that this should have been the year that the CL was within grasp The lack of young talent coming through and the performances of the youth teams
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + Vvd performances Long performances Vvd contract Home form - Right back position Not enough goals from midfield Lack of creativity away Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
Saint Billy Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 Plus Vvd proving himself and signing long term contract. Shane Long and Romeu. Wins against the big clubs. Staying in the top 8. Minus Performance in cups and Europe. Classie, Soares, Jwp, No decent backup for Forster. Ronald not signing a contract extension yet.
Cabrone Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + Record points tally? Koeman VVD Austin - I think he'll come good next season Spurs\Chelski\Pool\Citeh\Utd\Arse - Disappointing cup runs Flaky December run
5string Posted 12 May, 2016 Share Posted 12 May, 2016 + points total league position (especially after another summer 'meltdown' last year!) excellent end-of-season run potentially getting a European spot - tbc VvD outstanding Forster & JRod returning from injury Bertrand's consistency Tadic improvement squad strength-in-depth results against 'big' clubs Koeman - disappointing European tour bad midwinter run red cards lack of Cup runs potentially missing out on a European spot - tbc RB position Not cementing dominant positions with hatfuls of goals
