davesaint Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000?
Appy Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000? No.
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000? I'd buy twice as many.
Saint Garrett Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 They've done amazingly well to sell that many - fair play to them.
Mattio Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 The team are a London based Premier League team who will be in Europe in an amazing and easily accessable ground. They'll have a stadium half filled with tourists.
simo Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 It also includes thousands of kids £50 season tickets too !
beatlesaint Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 It also includes thousands of kids £50 season tickets too ! yes it does, the acid test is how many they shift in their second season in the new stadium. But no, not a cat in hells chance we would sell that many.
djharvey Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 At West Ham prices I reckon we could probably shift 35k season tickets, so with away fans and other match by match sales I also reckon regular gates of 40-45k would be very achievable.
The Cat Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 What I'm most looking forward to is seeing how many more bubble machines they can get around the edge of the pitch.
Matthew Le God Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 The team are a London based Premier League team who will be in Europe in an amazing and easily accessable ground. They'll have a stadium half filled with tourists. No they won't. It is a 60,000 capacity stadium. They have made tickets very cheap and announced today they've sold 50,000 season tickets. With 3,000 away fans, segregation cutting in... that leaves under 7,000 for general sale.
the saint in winchester Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000? If our season tickets were £300, meaning a break even of say 8 or 9 games, I would buy one, knowing I only need to get to such a few games to make it worthwhile. At £6-700 it's a no from me, as I don't get to the current breakeven of 15 home games. I believe many are in the same position as me, so if we had a huge stadium, we could sell them. Build it, they will come.
oldsarum Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 No they won't. It is a 60,000 capacity stadium. They have made tickets very cheap and announced today they've sold 50,000 season tickets. With 3,000 away fans, segregation cutting in... that leaves under 7,000 for general sale. Depends how many touts / agencies have snapped up season tickets knowing they will be able to sell tickets on at a premium for individual matches I'm sure that's what happened at Arsenal too despite the season tickets being more expensive

London's full of people who work or study there for a few years and might fancy a cheap way to watch football. If they have an average season I predict there will be loads of empty seats for certain games where people just don't bother - a bit like the Emirates for a mundane Tuesday night fixture.
angelman Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000? They've sold 10,000 at £99 to U16 so wondering whether it might not sound like a woman's match.
CB Fry Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 . Build it, they will come. Don't build it, lease it off the state for buttons, give thousands of seats away, they will come, for the big games.
Golden Balls Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 They've sold 10,000 at £99 to U16 so wondering whether it might not sound like a woman's match. Bodes well for future fan base for them. Not sure how many we sold this season but my bet is if it was £50-£300 it could be a lot lot more!
Saint_clark Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those under16s who paid £99 look fairly old for their age!
Millbrook Saint Posted 9 May, 2016 Posted 9 May, 2016 The whole thing ****ing stinks, sell your ground at London prices, instant £100 million windfall at least, get the tax payer to build a nice shiny stadium so you don't have to spend none of your nice windfall on boring things like stadium finance, nah just buy players with it. Then undercut every premier league team in the country for season ticket prices, claiming that you are now some massive club. All done with other peoples money which you don;t have to pay back. Oh and yes we could sell a hell of a lot more tickets if we cut the prices in half. My 2 lads late teens would be able to afford a season ticket each, plus my daughter just turned 12 would get one as I can't afford to buy her one this season as her age has reached the threshold.

sandwichsaint Posted 10 May, 2016 Posted 10 May, 2016 Charlton have just been relegated to Div 1, club in turmoil. They have a well-organised boycott (6000+) fans refusing to renew at early bird rates and demanding regime change. I heard yesterday that up to a 1000 Charlton fans have bought cheap STs at West Ham. They can go to the 'big games', they can go to PL football when Charlton are away, and it's a bit of an insurance if their club goes tits up or they need to boycott next season, and of course they can always pass on PL tkts to family and friends or even sell them on. Bit of a no-brainer at £200-£300 a pop, makes you wonder when we are going to see a class action from Millwall/Palace/Charlton/Gillingham/Orient alleging unfair competition? The answer is almost certainly never but clearly those tkts are being sold at well below any recognisable 'market value' and the tax payer is picking up the difference.
Patrick Bateman Posted 10 May, 2016 Posted 10 May, 2016 Assuming we had increased capacity, If our season tickets were £300 like West Ham could we sell 52000? I haven't had a season ticket since 2009 as I can't make every single home game. However if we were selling season tickets for £300, then yes, I'd buy one. Trouble is that we haven't been given a 60,000 seater stadium for basically free.
