We are obviously not playing but two huge games for us.

Liverpool v Chelsea

West Ham v Man U

we all know what we need to happen, at least 1 of liverpool/west ham NOT winning. Both would be awesome

Mad season so impossible to predict. Let's home for a couple of miserly draws. West Ham vs Man Utd's a cracker though.

A draw for Liverpool would be great, but we want ManU to beat WHam as then we have it in our own hands to finish above them on Sunday.

Why a Liverpool draw? Surely a Chelsea win is better for us?

It was a reply to the post I quoted suggesting we wanted a draw in both games. If Liverpool drop points by either drawing or losing on Wednesday they won't be able to catch us if we beat Palace.

Either/or, really. Anything that isn't a Liverpool win keeps them below us going into Sunday.

With the West Ham/Man United game, I think realistically we have to pick sides rather than hope for a dull draw. If it is a draw, it keeps West Ham below us but only on goal difference by one goal, so technically our destiny wouldn't be entirely in our own hands, as if they were to win at Stoke by more than we beat Palace (hypothetically), they'd finish above us.

Man United have Bournemouth at home on Sunday, and they've been phoning it in for a few weeks now, so realistically we've got no chance of catching them - as a result, we might as well get behind them and focus on sixth place.

That's the way I see it.
