VectisSaint Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 It's fairly common knowledge that Zlatan wants one season in the Premier League before moving to the MLS. He will go to a club that plays in the Champions League and can realistically win the league, not for the team in 7th spot and potential Europa League qualifiers in Kazakhstan. Will be odd seeing him playing alongside Vardy.

He should go to Leicester then, just for sh!ts.
Saint Billy Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 I'd have him on a heartbeat along with his ego but never in a million years would he come here.
david in sweden Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 and we'll get Lawrie Mac to sneak him in the side door at the Potters Heron, eh?
SaintBobby Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 Lol. What's his salary £300K a week? Still, never say never....:-)
Mattio Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If it were true (which it ain't) it'd be like Osvaldo all over again except it would bankrupt us and put is into the Conference South, no thanks!
Lighthouse Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If it were true (which it ain't) it'd be like Osvaldo all over again except it would bankrupt us and put is into the Conference South, no thanks! Without actually wishing to entertain this rumour, a 1 year deal on £300kpw would 'only' set us back £15m. Beefed up a bit by agents fees, signing on etc. but it wouldn't come close to bankrupting us.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 I can't see it happening but it would be interesting to see whether he turned out to be more of a Kevin Keegan for us or more of a Mark Hughes...
davefoggy Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 I saw Zlatan in the Grand Harbour Hotel this morning, just saying like. Big Lawrie was also there....
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I wouldn't want him here. Bad influence on the team despite his talent. Especially after just witnessing a team more than the sum of it's parts win the title. The thought of seeing Ibrahimovic strutting around demanding to take every free kick, posturing when he doesn't get a pass, celebrating his goals chest out running away from his team mates. Tosser, would rather watch Long week in week out than that man-bunned creep. As I said, I'm sure I'm a minority here, however the Man City fans were spot on with their 'you're just a **** Andy Carroll' song.
saint lard Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If this is true I will present match of the day in a cod piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
doddisalegend Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If it were true (which it ain't) it'd be like Osvaldo all over again except it would bankrupt us and put is into the Conference South, no thanks! except the actually scoring goals bit which Osvaldo wasn't very good at...
Saint86 Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If I am right I am bagging ITK status, life time membership. I have been told by someone close to the Italian media and a Juventus s/t holder that Zlatan Ibrahimović has agreed a summer move to Southampton - on the basis of his exceptional relationship with Ronald at Ajax. Wage structure to be demolished in line with new TV revenue. If I am wrong hey who cares I loved hearing it. Gonna call BS on that I'm afraid
sandwichsaint Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 If it all goes tits we could always loan him to Middlesborough.
Saint_clark Posted 4 May, 2016 Posted 4 May, 2016 I'd rather have Shane Long up front. There, I said it.
Pilchards Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Can't believe that someone under the same name has enquired about joining my Taekwondo club.
Shance Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 I'd rather have Shane Long up front. There, I said it. Like. haha

Even though we have zero chance of signing him, he would be an immense signing. You can afford to posture when you have scored 298 league goals in 481 games for clubs like Barca, Juve, AC & Inter Milan. He is still one of the Worlds Star Players - never blessed with huge pace so getting a bit older and slowing down hasn't done him much harm. Would be a massive upgrade on Pelle. Financially 15m-20m a year in wages etc - again now a drop in the ocean for us with the TV deal, especially with all the extra exposure around the world it would give us. But again, won't come here in a million years.
Toomer Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Was he wondering what happened to the Fighting Cocks? He said what the hell happened to Dimplex, Mullards and Calor Gas.
ScepticalStan Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 I'd rather have Shane Long up front. There, I said it. There are a lot of people on this forum and throughout our fanbase who would unironically agree with this
berkshiresaint Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 There is no way he would ever come here! Would f*&cking love it if it were true though.

The guy is expensive and disruptive, team spirit could be destroyed in a heartbeat, wouldn't touch him with a bargepole !
angelman Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Is this one of those threads that is supposed to start a "rumour" to see if the papers pick it up?

The guy has won 13 titles in the last 14 seasons. At the age of 34, this year, he has scored 45 goals in 48 games and has 16 assists. He is not a **** Andy Carroll.

Winnersaint Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 The most amusing thing is this thread has gone on for this length of time. M***board gold!
farawaysaint Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 I will eat my hat and every single user of this board can hold me to that.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 He's also not coming here I know, just reacting to the ridiculous notion that he's a **** Andy Carroll.
Secret Site Agent Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 QUOTE=shurlock;2332306]Don't forget all the horse stables either.... And the monkey/chickens in the zoo:?:
Pamplemousse Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 This is about as realistic as Maradona joining the skates
the saint in winchester Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Bull****! But Christ I hope so! I hope NOT. Over-rated egomaniac. Doesn't fit in with our profile at all. Hungry? Hungry for cash, that's all.

Bad Wolf Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 How many houses did he buy in Winchester in the end? That rumour cropped up about 3 years in a row!! Tbf, when Le Tissier tweeted at Owen that Saints need a striker (or something like that), he tweeted back saying "Open to offers". Pretty sure that was when we were in the Championship. It was Martin O'Neill that kept buying all the houses in in Winchester!!!
Lighthouse Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 I think the OP probably misheard his friend. We are actually going to re-sign Zoltan, not Zlatan.
Hatch Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Just another ruse to make people pay more for each extra letter at £10 a pop on the shirts.
Golden Balls Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 posturing when he doesn't get a pass' date=' celebrating his goals chest out running away from his team mates.[/quote'] Pelle does this. Still. This won't happen. If a post like this was on POL we would be ripping the **** out of them.
DT Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Would be the best and most amazing signing since Keegan. Really hope it is true but think he'll end up at Chelsea.
pangy Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 I cant believe people are saying "Dont want him" He would walk into pretty much every top team in Europe and scores goals for fun
Mowgli Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 The funniest thing will be that 50% of those posting are gonna look right embarrased when it either happens or does not happen. Friendships can often overcome any number of issues such as wages etc so I'm not ruling it out but would be as surprised as the Keegan signing if it does come off. Like others have sensibly said, the biggest concern is whether he would actually help or hinder dressing room harmony. Most clubs can handle (and possibly need) one massive ego.
View From The Top Posted 5 May, 2016 Posted 5 May, 2016 Whilst it would be an awesome signing I'm firmly in the BS camp on this one.

Okay, that's true, but he did look like a **** Andy Carroll against City, he really, really did. Granted he looked class against Chelsea, but hey the boy Shame has scored against both Chelsea and City this year, never vanishes!
