70's Mike Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 Did we witness the end of an era? Le Tiss and Lambert on the pitch at the same time and Rickie getting more cheers in my opinion? Has the composition of the crowd at SMS changed so that us old boys are now in the minority?
Mowgli Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 Who?
Saint Charlie Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 I think it was just because we haven't really had a chance to say "thanks & goodbye" to Lambert. Le Tiss is on the pitch a couple of times a season at least. Still gets the reception he deserves every time. Lambert being there was a nice suprise hence the reaction being greater. Just a shame nobody can hear what they say.
Mowgli Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 Seriously I think the only reason Rickie got a bigger cheer (maybe) was because we recognise how badly he was treated at Liverpool. Matt is and always has been one of us and doing very nicely thank you with a Sky TV career. Both valued members of the 7 club along with Keegan and Paine .... .....and now Shane Long!! Maybe but i remember the mantle of hero passing from Paine to Channon and starting thinking that there were more in SMS yesterday who never actually saw Le Tiss play than did

He's being treated like utter dogsh*t at WBA aswell. Probs worse imo as Pulis would still rather put Berahino on the pitch despite the guys diabolical attitude. He never got into the Liverpool team because he wasn't good enough. He was slow, he couldn't adapt to their game and without a team being built around him, he was half the player he was at Southampton. We were trying to replace him for a couple of years with J Rod, Osvaldo and Pelle (who I still think would have signed even if Lambert had stayed). I think the issue was that he signed expecting to be a bench and squad rotation player, but didn't even manage that as others were signed ahead of him. He seemed to do okay when he did play, early on at least.
Miltonaggro Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 Le tissier was a much better player than lambert. Arguably the best English player of his generation.
Saint Charlie Posted 2 May, 2016 Share Posted 2 May, 2016 70% of yesterday's crowd never set foot in The Dell Interesting. Where did you read that? I would have thought it was much lower but assume the Club have provided the demographics info.
