SaintTex Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Kind of a big night, no? Three matches - pretty cut and dry - root for the away team! WHam v. Watford Liverpool v. Everton Manu v. Palace I would kill for a clean sweep.
CWD Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Obviously very unlikely that they'll all go our way but would certainly make things interesting!
gr00031 Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 You'd get some pretty decent odds for three away wins tonight I reckon
eddie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Kind of a big night, no? Three matches - pretty cut and dry - root for the away team! WHam v. Watford Liverpool v. Everton Manu v. Palace I would kill for a clean sweep. true. I never give enough attention to other games as I should, despite the fact that they impact our final position as much as our own results! especially seeing as WHam, Liverpool and ManU will be our rivals in top 8 places. Only one I can see squeezing a result would be Watford, and Palace, though it'll have to be another 'louis van gaal hasn't got a clue' type performance from manU, to see that palace side in their current form get anything other than a loss out the game.
Pamplemousse Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Man Utd v Palace doesn't affect us, there's no way we will catch them. But Liverpool and West Ham slipping up will do us very nicely.

Everton's away form is much better than their home form, weirdly enough, and in a derby match form goes out of the window anyway. I reckon they might pick something up from Anfield.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Man Utd v Palace doesn't affect us, there's no way we will catch them. Why doesn't it? If Palace beat Man Utd and Saints beat Villa by the end of the weekend we'll be only 2 points behind (plus have a better GD). Man Utd's game in hand over Saints is on 10th May vs West Ham, they both can't win that match so some points will be lost by one or both of them.
Hatch Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Liverpool v Everton will be a load of reserves wont it, with FA Cup semis, and Europa Semis coming up

I think Man Utd will finish above us, even at this stage, 5 points is too big a gap for us to overhaul (soon to be 8 points with a win tonight). We are fighting for 6th or 7th with West Ham and Liverpool.

You said tonight's Man Utd vs Palace game "doesn't affect us", but if they lose it then we would be able to close the gap to only 2 points at the weekend. So how does that mean tonight's game doesn't make a difference to Saints?

So how does that mean tonight's game doesn't make a difference to Saints? My original point is that we won't catch Man Utd. It's only my opinion, feel free to disagree with it. Even if they lose this game, they have favourable fixtures in comparison to us and will maintain their advantage. I'm looking at West Ham and Liverpool as our rivals.
Dark Munster Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Shame all 3 away teams will have eyes on the semi-finals. Yes Utd too, but unlike Palace they are fighting for something in the league (CL).
Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Think this could be the night our EL ambitions fade away and die. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
IOWSaintDaz Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 tbh it was all over for us last weekend vs Everton we needed to win that one to have any chance what so ever Looks like its 8th place only for us as Liverpool will surely overhaul us
Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Wham 2 0 now. No chance Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Everton look sh*te TBH. pretty average but still better than what we saw at the weekend

Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Lpool too now. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
IOWSaintDaz Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 game over for us Liverpool will score a hatfull tonight with that defending
Saint Charlie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 (edited) Think this could be the night our EL ambitions fade away and die. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk It already happened when we didn't beat Everton. 8th the best we can get IMO and that is a fair reflection of where we are (if a little generous even) this season. Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Liverpool 2 0. So easy. They're doing what we should have done Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 2-0, awful defending how did we fail to beat Everton's much changed side. ffs
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 You know, if Everton weren't in an FA Cup Semi-Final I think Martinez would be a goner.
doddisalegend Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 2-0, awful defending how did we fail to beat Everton's much changed side. ffs because we are **** at scoring goals away from home....
doddisalegend Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Liverpool 2 0. So easy. They're doing what we should have done Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk Score?
Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Score? Indeed. Absolutely. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
doddisalegend Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 LOL going well for us tonight then. looks like 8th place for us this season. Still top eight three seasons in a row is not to shabby if we are honest.

Shroppie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Most we can hope for tonight is a Palace equaliser. Manure only leading by a lucky OG. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Chalkboy Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Everton actually playing with 9 men. Aaron Lennon is on the pitch.
Lighthouse Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 You know' date=' if Everton weren't in an FA Cup Semi-Final I think Martinez would be a goner.[/quote'] Even that might not be enough. Liverpool casually wandering through their defence.
Batman Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 3-0 What was stones doing. He really needs to warm the bench this summer, in France Martinez will be gone this summer. Awful for too long Even more frustrating that we could not beat a side worse than this Everton one.
Nordic Saint Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 So 8th place it is then. We really should have beaten Everton. Let's not slip up against Villa and Palace, the 2 worst teams in the league on current form.
Batman Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Barcelona win 8-0 away. Less chance of Ron going there then lol
Lighthouse Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 This is like watching our cup game. 13 minutes to get 2 more.
austsaint Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Humiliating stuff at Anfield. Coutinho's goal reminiscent of several he's banged past us.
Batman Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 I think Liverpool will be right up there next season and will at least finish top 4.
Sour Mash Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 We've looked nailed on for 8th for a while based on form and fixtures, no big deal, tonight doesn't change anything.
Saint Charlie Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 We weren't good enough away from home over the season to capitalise. Watford, WBA, Palace, Norwich, Bournemouth, Arsenal, Leicester. All away league games we failed to score in. Got to be winning a few of those really if you want a European place.
Chalkboy Posted 20 April, 2016 Posted 20 April, 2016 Arsenal looking over their shoulder at Man U now. If they don't make top 4 I think it could be bye bye Arsene. Could be bad for us if they like RK.
