Over the last two weeks:

My kitten got killed

My friend had a seriously ill baby (now not so bad)

My Paris trip went tits up

My boss has cancer (found this out yesterday)

My car blew up today

Please can someone better that to make me feel ever so slightly better?

Last month I...

1. Lost my job

2. Some plank drove into my car at Asda

3. My car spectacularly failed the M.O.T

4. My mother discovered I'm on a football banning order

5. My mother practically disowned me ( see 1 and 4 )

Close, but I think you win.

Since Jan 1st, childminder friends of mine has had the following happen:

- they've lost (not literally) three children, reducing their income significantly

- two of their close friends have been made redundant

- a relation died this morning

- their fixed rate mortgage ended, and unable to get another due to the financial crisis, are potentially going to have their mortgage double

Not bad for 6 days, eh?

I'm 25 in a couple of weeks, we're speaking now, I was more worried she would cut me out of the will.

Given that banning orders seem to be publicised in local papers so neighbours can all tell your mum, how did she manage to not know Denzil?

I had a winning lottery ticket on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Day my daughter put the winning ticket in the shredder thinking it was just some wrapping paper.

The lottery commission won't accept I had the winning ticket.

I'm not good enough at puzzles to piece the thousands of pieces back together.

I've lost just short of £5m :(

I'm afraid that my 2009 has started ok and my 2008 was pretty good, but in order to fit in with the drama of the thread and in a case of oneupmanship i'm going to be creative:

- My Mum just dropped dead

- My Dad and Uncle just got cancer

- My Dog at my Cat

- My Dog died as eating the Cat caused a blockage

- My Dog had AIDS

- I caught AIDS

- Boj won't give me free membership

- I failed at committing suicide last night

- My sister is in a wheelchair and is a spazmong

I win :) WOOP.

without wishing to sound harsh thats tough titty. fixed rates dont just suddenly end, you get advised by letters. they should have fixed another in good time.

plus i'll bet a pound to a penny the current interest rate is a shat load lower than their fixed rate so im not buying into that one at all! i got a fixed rate for 5 years at 5.3%, if i wanted to renew and get a tracker it'd be on (off top of my head) 3% max

I can't better it, but my car died recently. I'm awaiting the mechanics to raise it from the dead a la Lazarus in order to part exchange it.

As I like you lot, don't buy a T reg Saxo from anyone within a 30 mile radius of Windsor. It's crocked. :-)

Oh, and my girlfriend is highly emotional as she's 25 today and still jobless. Looking, but in vain. And I have to put up with her like that!

Oh, and my parents have had a flood in their house cause by a leaky pipe.

Oh, and I have had to get up at 3am in the freezing cold for the last 7 days for work.

Oh, and my hire car is costing me a fortune. (though it is a lovely car so I'm willing to overlook this.)

Got a repair bill for a laptop reduced from £215 to £0

Got a repair bill for wifeys car reduced from £975 down to £0.

Just by speaking to different people in the organizations and spreading confusion and chaos.

Particulary please about the result of the car, Thank You FIAT.

One of my colleages:

-Split up with his girlfriend after being with her for 6 years and being married for just 3 months - found out she was cheating on him.

-still has £15,000 of debt to pay toward the wedding and rents so is unable to get another house, so has moved back in with his parents at the age of 33.

-since moving in his mum and dad both with totally different jobs with different companies have been made redundant and nearly have their entire mortgage left to pay.

If you asked me a couple of years ago I could have done, went through non-stop hell from 2000 - 2007, went to 15 funerals, my mum in and out of hospital with heart attacks and strokes, other family members in and out hospital etc

But no, can't beat it now :)

We'll to put things in perspective,

1) I found a twenty in my trouser pocket which i had forgotten about

2) I've just had a change in my work situation which is kind of like a small payrise for doing less work!

3) I've recently lost some weight! Nearly 12kg.!! (To be fair there is alot more to go)

4) The Creme Egg is in the shops again

5) I'm going on holiday to Brazil in 24 days :D

My kitten got killed It's an animal.

My friend had a seriously ill baby (now not so bad) It's not your baby, so not your bad luck.

My Paris trip went tits up Paris is sh!te, and French people live there.

My boss has cancer (found this out yesterday) - It's not your cancer.

My car blew up today - OK that's a tad unlucky, but didn't you always used to tell people you had 2?

Please can someone better that to make me feel ever so slightly better?

To summarise, some good fortune, alot of self obsession and a few lessons in life.

Hardly bad luck.
