benjii Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 When you finally think a ref will stand up to Leicester he goes and gifts them a point. Mind you, it was a shock to see Moss having a good game up until that point. They must, without a doubt, be the worst team to ever be in with a shout of winning the league. It's embarrassing for English football.

lickierambert Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 That back four against Messi, Suarez and Neymar would be hilarious
Baird of the land Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Annoying Bournemouth couldn't do us a favour against a weakened Liverpool. Now need Everton to turn up midweek with a shock.
S-Clarke Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 The fact that Arsenal, Utd, City, Chelsea are so far behind that rabble is an offence. No wonder all their jobs at at risk/changing in the summer. I'd even go as far to say Spurs have been a bit **** to not win it this year, especially when you look at the standard of Leicester and the standard of their players. Wes bloody Morgan will lift the trophy ffs! The typical journeyman lower league defender, he's just about brute force and fouls. Reminds me of Darren Moore for Derby in the NPC. I don't want to come across as bitter or jealous, as I'm not, but let's be honest, the standard of the league this year has been nothing short of horrific.
benjii Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Definitely the worst Doesn't say much for the rest of the teams in the league though Indeed. We were much better last season and the season before but look likely to finish in roughly the same position this season. I think next season is going to be a bit of a shock for Leicester fans. Enjoy the relegation scrap!

I think next season is going to be a bit of a shock for Leicester fans. Enjoy the relegation scrap! I don't think they'll be in a scrap, but it will be a bit of a comedown. Mid-table beckons for them and normal service resumed with Pep, Mourinho, Conte and co at the top. Bournemouth will struggle next year as well in my opinion, the fact they're on 40 pts says it all really. Rubbish season for all.
Lets B Avenue Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 I don't want to come across as bitter or jealous, as I'm not. You really are.
iansums Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Well FWIW I think Leicester have been magnificent this season and fully deserve to win the title. Yes, they have been fortunate in that all the big clubs have been so poor but that have done it by playing decent football and without flashing the cash like so many other clubs. Good luck to them, I hope they win it.
Bananaman Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Jesus... what would you rather?? look at the leagues across Europe. Who's topping the leagues? Juve, Barca, Bayern, PSG, Celtic... at least the premier league is open and interesting this year.. not the usually boring City of Chelsea. The team that spends the most has the most success.. like an American Presidential campaign. Just enjoy it...
benjii Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 I just don't like on pitch injustice. The fact I am peeved by their constant benefiting from decisions when the alternative is Spurs winning the league says it all really! Finally someone picks that nasty chav up on his diving and gives their two meathead centre backs a bit of medicine but then goes and gifts them a goal for nothing anyway. Their second shot on target in the whole match. They are about as good as you normally expect an 8th placed team to be. Maybe a bit lower. To my mind the league is not interesting any more. It was earlier in the season but now seeing them plod about fouling constantly yet being allowed to scrape undeserved wins through generous refereeing has become quite tiresome. And for those who want to talk about money and some kind of underdog narrative: you might want to know that they cheated their way round the financial fair play rules to get out of the Championship. Mind you, it is quite funny that Spurs are going to finish above Arsenal, Man Utd, City, Chelsea and Liverpool but still win **** all thanks to this bunch of grafters!
Dark Munster Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Well FWIW I think Leicester have been magnificent this season and fully deserve to win the title. Yes, they have been fortunate in that all the big clubs have been so poor but that have done it by playing decent football and without flashing the cash like so many other clubs. Good luck to them, I hope they win it. This. And also it is only they who stand between the north London bastards and the title. And for those who say they will struggle next year, I'm sure they will strengthen significantly. I doubt they'll have difficulty recruiting some quality players now that they are in the CL, and probably have a good chance retaining their best players for the same reason.
iansums Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 To my mind the league is not interesting any more.: Agreed, so much more interesting when it was City, Chelsea, United and Arsenal occupying the top four positions year in year out. This season has been so dull
kwsaint Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Random change of topic. Watched Cambridge v Carlisle yesterday while dropping KWsaint junior off at uni. Apart from the pleasure of standing on traditional terraces, we heard the following chant during another piece of time wasting from a Carlisle player 'Dig a big hole and F***ing bury him'. Well we liked it.
Shroppie Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Agreed, so much more interesting when it was City, Chelsea, United and Arsenal occupying the top four positions year in year out. This season has been so dull Me too. (not). Didn't anyone else enjoy seeing Chelsea implode? Or United and City desperately fighting for a CL playoff place, with all the panic of the financial consequences of failing? There seems to be an assumption that it'll be back to normal next season. I'm far from sure that's going to happen. Spurs will be there again. Maybe Leicester if they strengthen well. United will struggle again unless they can bring their style of play into the 21st century. Inspired by Leicester, even Saints could challenge. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
whelk Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Fck me people moaning about Leicester. Joyless cnts. They aren't playing with same verve as earlier but you clowns pronouncing how bad they are is laughable. Did anyone see how dour Chelsea were last season from January onwards. No cos you wish Abramovich and Terry well but don't like it when bastarsd like Ranieri and Morgan do well. Such joy
Lord Duckhunter Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Everyone going on about Vardy diving seem to overlook the complete & utter joke of the first yellow . Had Mane ( another diver) been sent off for those 2 yellows this place would be in meltdown . Moss was shocking , it's not in the refs gift to suddenly decide someone needs a yellow to take the sting out of the game , after he's let worse ones go without booking anyone . It's not in the refs gift to overlook pulling in the box & then warn the centre halves " do it again and I'll give a pen" . Henry & Heskey saying the one on Huth wasn't a peno because he'd let Huth have 2 " free" tug backs without giving a pen and hadn't warned West Ham back 4. What a load of pony , if it's a pen it's a pen . You can't give pens using a totting up procees . Really poor , no way a pen at the end either , laughable. As for the bitterness against Leicester , **** me , what a bunch of bitter twts . It's a great story , they fully deserve it . Instead of crying about how poor the league is , we should take a bit of heart that anything is possible in the next few years . Just because it wasn't us that upset the applecart doesn't suddenly make it an easy league to win . I ****ing hope city become champions of Europe to ram it down you miserable sods throats , mind you you'll probarly complain Barca are shiete this year .
Batman Posted 17 April, 2016 Author Posted 17 April, 2016 (edited) Vardy did dive IMO and deserved the yellow for it I agree with the above and think his first yellow was a very poor decision by the ref as for the ref. he was horrendously inconsistent. Then again, he is easily one of the worst referee's we have. Jonathan Moss. FFS also, funny as reading that Wenger talked about not 'splashing the cash' again this summer, whilst they drew at home to Palace Edited 17 April, 2016 by Batman
Lord Duckhunter Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Reid was on a yellow for a pretty poor challenge , he then made a foul down the touch line as bad as Vardys first yellow and Moss didn't issue second yellow
John Boy Saint Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Barcelona 1-2 down v Valencia Fear they are the team who might turn Ronald's head.
Batman Posted 17 April, 2016 Author Posted 17 April, 2016 (edited) Barcelona 1-2 down v Valencia Fear they are the team who might turn Ronald's head. seriously? I would be amazed if he is even on their radar. hardly plays the style of football that would be remotely accepted for that club. he is clearly putting his name out there, given Barca's current dip in form. angelman Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 If you were Barca and wanted to employ a manager from PL, wouldn't you take MP over RK? There may be a connection between RK and Barca but MP is the better manager.
Saint Billy Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 As for Ronald, I like him but would not be heartbroken if he left for Barcelona although I would be very surprised if he was tapped up for that job. I feel that we haven't quite clicked as a team this season and put it down to the constant tinkering on Ronald's part. As for Leicester, good luck to them for grabbing the opportunity in what can only be described as a bizarre season, shame we couldn't do it as opportunities like that don't come along often when all the top sides under perform.

Donatello Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 (edited) You sound pretty bitter boys This x 1000. Benjii has had issues with Leicester's success for a while. Bit disappointing to see S-Clarke joining in with the nonsense. Edited 17 April, 2016 by Donatello

I ****ing hope city become champions of Europe to ram it down you miserable sods throats , mind you you'll probarly complain Barca are shiete this year . Great post. Totally agree with everything in it. The quality of the Premier League is very good. English clubs are through to the semi-finals of both European competitions. There were plenty of journeymen in the Liverpool sides which won the league nearly every year in the 70s and 80s who were nowhere near as good as the likes of Schmeichel, Mahrez and Kante. What p!sses the naysayers off even more is the fact that there are so many great English players coming through like Kane, Vardy and Alli. For the first time in decades, England could actually win a major competition.
Sour Mash Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 Leicester's game today was just another example of the inconsistency of referees, impossible to know what each ref will or won't enforce.
Nordic Saint Posted 17 April, 2016 Posted 17 April, 2016 True, Sour Mash. I think this has been a great season in the Premier League, but the refereeing has been very inconsistent, and that has been the one sour note.
skintsaint Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 If you were Barca and wanted to employ a manager from PL, wouldn't you take MP over RK? There may be a connection between RK and Barca but MP is the better manager. Barca have a knack of employing ex-players, even straight out the backroom. RK will apply I'm sure, and what else to keep the fans happy than to appoint a club legend? Funny that Barca were unstoppable a few months back, now three defeats on the bounce and their season is in jeopardy - maybe missing out on the league now as well as the CL!
Mystic Force Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 I think the biggest difference this season between teams is that the difference between the quality of teams is much smaller than the difference in the quality of the players on the teams. By this I mean that over time great individual players no longer make great teams. The individual mentality of the best players seems to have undermined the fact that this is a team sport, so a collection of good players willing to work together have the edge over great players. I wonder if this also flies in the face of all those statistics based analysis we hear so much about. I think these models they try to use miss something that isnt quantifiable. In fact Ranneri has said he is going in the opposite direction. the fact that the common wisdom about money and success has been overturned should give us all hope that although we wont be able to mount a challenge every year someone can to upset the old order. And I enjoy nothing more than rubbing it in the face of people who attached themselves to success, only for success sake and now struggling to adapt. In the future various other supporters will be like Liverpool saying they are special and deserve a title but never earn one. A European super league looks a little silly when the mega clubs cant beat Leicester, because then it becomes obviously nakedly a money grab.
Picard Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 A lot of the papers saying Vardy could get a longer ban for ranting after his red card.
Batman Posted 18 April, 2016 Author Posted 18 April, 2016 Following vardy scoring again. Kane joins the party. 1-0

Sour Mash Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 I got 9/2 on Spurs winning the league last week, think they're going to take it right to the wire.

Saint Charlie Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 Doubt that, proper bogey side these days. Mainly just because they are very good. Pochettino the best Manager around IMO.
angelman Posted 18 April, 2016 Posted 18 April, 2016 I know that the table doesn't lie, and admittedly I haven't watched a lot of either throughout the season, but what I have seen, Spurs are a much better side than Leicester.
