Saints Match Magazine

A couple of home matches ago while waiting to go into the ground I was approached by Saints staff volunteers to answer questions in a survey about Saints Matchday Magazine, my two main issues was the size of it, too big and too expensive at £4.

I like the features on the history by David Bull, Duncan Holley and David Juson.

But for me, too big in size and too expensive.

I don't mind the size but £4 is definitely too much. Mind you that's pretty standard price now.

There are some decent interviews and the history articles are always a good read. The analysis of the opposition team is a lot more thorough than in other clubs programmes.

Thats it in a nutshell really.

Far too big to stick in a pocket during the match, and cumbersome to hold for 90 minutes. I always thought it was a 'brochure' designed for those in corporate hospitality rather than a fan in the stands etc.

Cost takes the p!ss a bit as well. Swansea's programme was £3 and perfectly adequate (as was Eastleigh's a few weeks ago).

Haven't bought one in years to be honest. I see no need these days. I have a chat before the game, at HT and after the game. Don't have time to read a programme.

and then as has been said, everything in the programme is online anyway.

Haven't purchased one in protest since the club sacked all the old programme sellers who had been selling the clubs programmes for years, they replaced them with younger irks without as much passion and raised the price to squeeze more out of us fans as a cash cow, I think as fans we all pay enough for our seats and traveling to matches without the insulting cost of £4 for a programme to add to this (half of it's content is just adverts anyway), hope the survey conducted shows this to be the case and the club listen's and it's lowered in price for next season. also agree about the large size too it's just ridiculous

Not technically true. The war time article which David Bull and I have been compiling is exclusive to the programme. It probably is not your cup of tea but each article has taken many hours of research.

I have every home game programme from 96/97 to 2002/03 sat up in my loft. Decided to stop buying them as they take up so much room.

My Mrs wants rid of them so would probably sell them all at a reasonable price (not that they are worth much I'd have thought?)

Some are signed too. Boro at home 96 is signed by Ravenelli and Juhinio
