Batman Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 ....Like all emerging players being in a team playing alongside lots of top international players ....of course he looked good. ..(and I'm certainly not going to attempt to defend David Prutton... that's no comparison). and light years ahead of JwP at the same age. as for the article. Be surprised if Tadic is here next season. Way too inconsistent for this league.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 A journalist saw Mane shaking his head like we all did. Then he saw Tadic not smiling as much as you could expect. Top story!
Saint_clark Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 I think it'd be a huge mistake to let Tadic go personally. Very creative player and a different option to everyone else in the squad. You can point to stats all you want for this season, but he was injured for quite a while, has been in and out of the team due to that and formation/rotation and has played with a team who on the whole underperformed for a long stretch. Remember the stat about him crossing the ball more times than anyone else in the prem - and for most of the season Pelle has been on the end of those crosses and off form. Put Long up front all season, who is a much much better header of the ball, and you'll have seen a much better success rate.
hypochondriac Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 In which a player who's not in the team gets his people to rock the boat a little in an attempt to spook the manager. No conspiracy from outside the club - it's Tadic and/or his representatives playing politics, by the looks of things. Remember his comments about the Serbia manager. Could well be. Seems a more likely scenario than the journalist simply making the story up.
david in sweden Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 Madness to compare with beckham. Easy to get in the u21s these days. How many goals has he scored or made in his last 120 games for us? If guess under 10 combined. If that's creative then God help us. Many fans - you seem to be one - rate midfielders and even defenders - by the number of goals they score. For me, such goals are purely a "bonus" There aren't any regular stats. for "assists " in football. But I think that both JWP and Steven Davis (himself not a great goalscorer) might rank better if there were. Historically, we've had very few midfielders who have got past 2-3 goals / season and those who did were invariably utility-type players who could play anywhere. He might have made more crosses than any other player but how many of them were accurate. Koeman is not the sort of manager to put his arm around a player. Some players need an arm around them sometimes. Does that make Koeman a bad manager? No. It makes him a different manager and his results on the pitch say he is doing something right but perhaps he still has a little to learn in some areas. Turkish Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 What's a Man United level player nowadays? Mane is definitely good enough to get in their team right now. That's what people said about Schniderlin and he's hardly nailed on for a starting place. Apart from anything else if Mane is upset because Koeman hasn't been very nice to him, which will no doubt be due to his poor performances for months, then how is he going to be able to cope with the pressure of playing at Old Trafford? Interesting how the players supposedly upset by Koemans approach are the ones who have all underachieved this season, which perhaps says more about their fragile mentality than Koemans management style. The very top players have a confidence in themselves and are able to perform when they need to regardless of if the manager is nice to them or not. If guess under 10 combined. If that's creative then God help us. 10 assists, 3 goals in the league this season and last alone (30 starts and 23 cameos). Also an assist in the League Cup this season and in the FA Cup in 2014-15. Clearly not Beckham-esque but clearly also nowhere near as shabby as you inferred. He's added a lot more bite to his midfield play too. Can't think of a better recent example than him robbing Allen/Skrtel, directly leading to our 3rd goal against Liverpool. sadoldgit Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 if everyone is fit. this would be my team Tadic has been way off the boil and when put in the side of late, been way off the boil again. Ron is right to leave him out. Like he did with Mane. Like he finally did with Pelle and look how he has come back. If many thinks he should be starting every week, then he needs to be far more consistent than he has been Forster Martina (why cedric has been frozen out, I have no idea but martina has the shirt) Fonte VvD Bertrand Vic Rom Davis Mane Long Pelle Stek, Targett, Yoshida, JwP, Clasie, Austin, Rodriguez So if you prefer Cedric why not put him in your team, it appears that you have frozen him out too with no idea why? Has probably come from one of the aggrieved players and whilst it may be exaggerated, there's probably a grain of truth in there.
saint1977 Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 Looks like it's come from the Tadic camp, needs a great second half today coming on as sub to convince RK and the club that he has a future next season. Can't see this coming from JWP, from a sensible background. Mane is probably off anyway. No great story there but interesting other papers reporting RK being offered a new contract so the timing of this little bit of gossip might be entirely a coincidence although MoS do love stirring at SFC
Barry the Badger Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 This stuff does more often than not turn out to be correct. Not massively surprised if Tadic is unhappy.
Dellman Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 Tadic always manages to look unhappy, he moans too much at his own players and seems tired. He hasn't been the star I expected, we can do better if he's off. But I doubt we will do better than RK as a manager
Badger Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 I would think the bigger problem is the friction between RK and Les, that I have been told about. Friction over what ?
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 3 April, 2016 Share Posted 3 April, 2016 I'll admit that I've probably undermined JWP's confidence too, by repeatedly saying he's not very good and doesn't contribute much to a game. Sorry James, no offence, I'm sure you're playing to the best of your limited ability. Just think five years ahead. Future Saints legend.

He hasn't been the star I expected, we can do better if he's off. But I doubt we will do better than RK as a manager Tadic is lazy. He will not track his man. See yesterday when he let Simpson stroll past him for a shot on goal that he really should've scored and killed the game off.
