david in sweden Posted 2 April, 2016 Share Posted 2 April, 2016 not good enough for their computer program that is ......Haha:lol: The Express have run a storyline stating that the Liverpool Transfer Committee turned down the chance to bid for Sadio Mane....whilst he was still at Red Bull. ...because " their Black Box" showed that he didn't meet the criteria they wanted....... what on Earth were they looking for?. I can only think that after his performance at St.Mary's ..they might want to re-programme their computer ..or replace their transfer Committee. But maybe they trust their computer more than their own judgment ...at least it works sometimes....they did end up buying two robots to be centre backs. ant Posted 2 April, 2016 Share Posted 2 April, 2016 Computer says that he is now good enough, and a bargain at £45m, come on Jurgen, you know you want to... You'd think that money would be better spent on our 'black box', as it were. The thing is, if it's us and Liverpool vying for a player, which team will they pick? Some still say we should've signed Coutinho but what chance did we have? It's exactly why our scouting and recruitment is so key to our progression; we've got to get there before the bigger boys (or relying-on-historical-size boys) get so much as a sniff. angelman Posted 2 April, 2016 Share Posted 2 April, 2016 And that there is the difference between us and clubs like Liverpool. They don't really need to take the risk to see if he cuts the mustard. If he comes good, then while it might cost them more, they can afford it, that is if another club doesn't get there before them.

A bench full of "sub-standard" millionaires.. Having a computer do your thinking for you maybe OK in some circumstances (unless it's your bank), but that their Transfer Committee (composed of former players) couldn't see - what we saw in him - speaks reams for our scouting system v. their computer.
