JRM Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 That's interesting, I wondered if he was in the squad as he was sat in 1st class on Southampton to London train yesterday lunchtime.
Batman Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 he has been absolutely woeful lately. cant see how he will start a game again this season. now with Jrod back (who is miles better in a different way) and Austin returning throw in Mane who was brilliant. Long wont be dropped yet and pelle has hit form fancy us to score in every game. Just not quite as strong defensively as last season, IMO

Verbal Kint Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 (edited) He may have been woeful but isnt his number of assists still the highest of any player at the club this season ? Yes joint with Mane i think, and that's no surprise as he's the most creative player in the squad. His form has been awful recently and he needs taking out of the team for a while. We need to have a rethink this summer about how we are going to use him next season as I just don't think playing him wide is getting the best out of him Edited 22 March, 2016 by Verbal Kint
fanimal Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 Yet he started off OK on Sunday when he was on the left wing, then for some reason he and Davis swapped over which meant both were trying to come back inside; thats what lead to the second goal counter attack. He was out on the left for the second goal v Stoke. KISS.

david in sweden Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 Managers clearly have their standard formations and favourite players.... fortunately Pelle got his chance for Italy when Conte took over, after having been totally ignored by previous regimes. Tadic may turn in a few good games for Saints at the same time that Serbia struggle and things may change under their next manager .....

But if the report is true then it is very rude not to at least let him know, but petulant reaction all the same. James Beattie had a similar beef with SGE if I recall, though I think he got a text. The Cat Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 He hasn't been woeful, just not playing as well as he can. Why does everything have to be discussed in extremes? Apparently a player is either amazing or rubbish these days. The reality is most perform just above or below their average.
Zed Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 Got an assist in each of the two games before Liverpool. Scored twice coming off the bench in January, although he is capable of playing better.

Even pelle was good. calling it as it is You've just said it yourself. Pellè has been a very good player for us, better at times than others, but usually when he has a drought it's at least partly due to the opposition doubling up defence on him. And that creates space for the rest of our forward line even if he does nothing. But he's either scoring and effing brilliant, or not scoring and complete sh*te. ALWAYS_SFC Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 dropped by his country too. and they are shyte International managers are a weird bunch and I don't give many much credit, just look at our idiot and some of his selections since he's been in charge... They get all the praise when they turn it on, they get called out when they are shyt. Like tadic was, hence why he was pulled off at HT. He missed an open goal the week before now dropped by his country you think he will start the next game? neither do I! when he turns it on, I will say. Toomer Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 I can think of four goals we have conceded that have been a result of lazy challenges by Tadic which has cost a least two points.
doddisalegend Posted 22 March, 2016 Share Posted 22 March, 2016 Tadic is what he. He gets us assists and the odd goal and is, in general, decent on the attack as long as he is playing on the left (where him and Bertrand can be very good). He is not however much cop on the defensive side, doesn't give his fullback much cover and isn't a big fan of tracking back. Personally I like having him in the team playing (4-3-3 or whatever) because on his day he gives us a different type of threat to Long and Mane. However if it's an nervy 1-0 lead we are holding onto or we want to keep it tight as the away team (playing 5/3 at the back) then don't have the lad in the team.
