spyinthesky Posted 15 March, 2016 Share Posted 15 March, 2016 Wonder if anyone in the insurance business has an idea of the annual cost of insurance cover for the club is likely to be. The increasing value of players impacting on the cost of injury, and particularly, travelling cost must be substantial Presumably clubs use specialist insurance brokers rather than use the meerkat comparison site!!! ErwinK1961 Posted 15 March, 2016 Share Posted 15 March, 2016 We used to insure an unnamed ex-premiership, now championship club at my place of work - premium ranged between £150-£200k. However, this didn't include the Personal Accident cover, which is insured via a specialist market and is pretty expensive.

Whitey Grandad Posted 15 March, 2016 Share Posted 15 March, 2016 This was discussed in the press many years ago. The premiums were so high that many clubs didn't bother, they just covered the risks themselves.
