Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 At least with Stoke pushing forward more and more, we *should* get more golden opportunities like that in the second half. Indeed. I'd consider bringing Mane on for either Pelle or Tadic around 70 minutes for more pace in behind. Today could be the day for goal droughts to be ended...
verlaine1979 Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Don't think that's what it is, as he started off on his left foot and then cut back. That first cut back wasn't even the problem it's how long he took. Look at where the ball goes after that - he has two good positions to shoot then moves the ball directly in front of him. It's like he's forgotten how little time you get in the Prem and thought he was playing in the Dutch League again. The first successful cutback takes the ball onto his right foot with the goal completely open The hesitation isn't because he's forgotten what country he's playing in, it's because he doesn't feel confident striking the ball with his right, which you can tell because he takes a further tiny touch on his right before he tries for the second unsuccessful cutback. Criminal lack of confidence in what should be basic technique.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 ...what tadic did there defies belief Unless someone has a large 0-2 Pelle scorer bet on. (-;
Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 He is one of the most infuriating players I have ever seen in a Saints shirt. Skillful and creative but no killer instinct. If he had any urgency about him he would be a fine player. Whatever, that was inexcusable, hope it won't cost us. If he banged goals in more regularly he'd be off in the summer, let's look at players strengths rather than weaknesses and build a squad that can compete. A club our size can't afford or keep complete players. I get what you're saying, my point is that if the reason he f*cked up was because he wasn't confident on his right then he would have just taken the shot with his left foot instead of cutting back in the first place.
Leo_ARG Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Can't find a weak spot, well maybe Clasie. But really well played, Saints. Stoke are so poor at the back, this should be game over already. Their holding midfielders hardly track back. They leave a lot of space. Imbula seems very strong and agile but he's decision making leaves a lo to be desired. Steven Davis always ahead of the game. Romeu won the back a few times. Pelle's first touch has been perfect. The second goal mabye the goalie should have done more but good link up play with Tadic. A combination of Stoke being horrible and the Saints being very good. Keep it up!
austsaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Clinical stuff from Pelle; Long being Long, hang your head Dusan despite the assist. Davis had a great half as have Clasie, Romeu, VVD and Bertrand. Couple of impressive tackles from Targett. Anyone expect 2-0 at H/T? Thought not.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Certainly looking like RK has got the formation/tactics right so far
jamesfp1 Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 If the Stoke player hadn't tackled him he'd probably still be stood there doing drag backs.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Tadic's blunder beggared belief, but come on.....Those things happen to all players at some time.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Can't find a weak spot, well maybe Clasie. What did he do wrong? Serious question, I just didn't notice him being any weaker than the others.
angelman Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Tadic's blunder beggared belief, but come on.....Those things happen to all players at some time. But Tadic often takes too much time. It's like he is frightened to pull the trigger.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 But Tadic often takes too much time. It's like he is frightened to pull the trigger. He came to us with a reputaion as a provider, not a sCORER....I wish he could give us more assists though. bLOODY sTUPID CAPS lock!
Batman Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Ffs That utterly ridiculous miss by tadic is looking even more ridiculous
Yorkshire Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Lazy lazy lazy ... Tadic hang your head in shame son
Saints foreva Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 We are going to regret that miss aren't we?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Shi t...lets hope that tadic miss is not costly..
Maggie May Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Still winning but we've blown this. Switching off.
Shroppie Posted 12 March, 2016 Author Posted 12 March, 2016 We're going to regret Tadic's miss Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Batman Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 You live in a strange world where unrelated events somehow become one. What?
OttawaSaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 See, that's how it's done tads me ol mucca...
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 We are going to regret that miss aren't we? Hope not
Ohio Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 We are blaming Tadic for the overall result? WTF?
Batman Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 We are blaming Tadic for the overall result? WTF? Who is?
Donatello Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 We are blaming Tadic for the overall result? WTF? No, we're blaming Tadic for not making it 3-nil, when it was easier to do so.
stknowle Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 If he banged goals in more regularly he'd be off in the summer, let's look at players strengths rather than weaknesses and build a squad that can compete. A club our size can't afford or keep complete players. Yeah good idea, let's build a squad full of not very good players so no-one else will ever buy them. That'll work.
Shroppie Posted 12 March, 2016 Author Posted 12 March, 2016 We are blaming Tadic for the overall result? WTF? No, but 3 0 would have been comfortable. At 2 0, they get one and we're under pressure, they're on the front foot. Like they are. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
BotleySaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Looking at our defence today we were always going to concede a goal. Now we just need to keep more of the ball and get a third. Sent from my GT-I9506 using Tapatalk
Ohio Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 No, we're blaming Tadic for not making it 3-nil, when it was easier to do so. I understand the frustration. I just don't understand the mental agility needed to blame a player for missing a sitter because a goal was conceded.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 I understand the frustration. I just don't understand the mental agility needed to blame a player for missing a sitter because a goal was conceded. The need to blame mate...
VectisSaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 I understand the frustration. I just don't understand the mental agility needed to blame a player for missing a sitter because a goal was conceded. Well you should ask Dave Merrington, Charlie Nicholas and a few others, because they are saying the same thing.
Batman Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Clasie and Rom missing a lot of challenges this half
Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 What is Clasie playing at? Avoiding a second yellow, when there was no real need to.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 The need to blame mate... Yeah. I've often blamed myself for not being better at footy when I was a kid and not becoming a player 10 times better than Matty, and staying with Saints for my entire career and scoring 2 goals every single game. That was my fault.
nta786 Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Tadic will certainly take some blame, but also blame would need to be taken to how ever the second goal we will inevitably concede comes about
Donatello Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 I understand the frustration. I just don't understand the mental agility needed to blame a player for missing a sitter because a goal was conceded. ...because it would be 3-1? I can't see anyone blaming Tadic for us conceding, so I'm not sure what you're referring to :S
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Tadic will certainly take some blame, but also blame would need to be taken to how ever the second goal we will inevitably concede comes about That`s the spirit Lots on here almost relishing them scoring....bit defeatest
adrian lord Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 this is awful thank God for their comedy finishing
Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2016 Posted 12 March, 2016 Tadic will certainly take some blame, but also blame would need to be taken to how ever the second goal we will inevitably concede comes about Only a matte of time before we concede here Assume you both have money on Stoke then.
