Arizona Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Haven't seen Police Squad, but the other two are hilarious. Leslie Nielson is a genius
Ponty Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Yes, all funny. You'd need a SOH bypass not to laugh plenty of times during any of them.
bridge too far Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Very, very funny. Still make me laugh out loud even after seeing them loads of times.
Sheaf Saint Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 I've got the whole series of Police Squad on DVD and no matter how many times I watch the part where he's having a gunfight with that woman and then the camera pans out to show that they are actually only about 3 feet apart, it still makes me LMAO.

Isn't that woman later revealed as a bloke in a wig? F***ing brilliant stuff. The key cutting scene is fantastic.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Another silly film of this type is Top Secret. Worth a look if you haven't seen it.
Arizona Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 "Cigarette?" "Yes, I know." "Any last requests Drebin?" "Can I... have the gun?" So many great one liners in those films.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 "Cigarette?" "Yes, I know." "Any last requests Drebin?" "Can I... have the gun?" So many great one liners in those films. "A hospital? What is it?" "It's a big building with patients butthat isn't important right now."
JohnnyFartPants Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 "Nervous?" "Yes." "First time?" "No, I've been nervous lots of times." Roger Murdock:Flight 2-0-9'er, you are cleared for take-off. Sheaf Saint Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Isn't that woman later revealed as a bloke in a wig? F***ing brilliant stuff. The key cutting scene is fantastic. No it's a woman but she pulls off about 4 different wigs to reveal 4 different aliases. Genius!
Arizona Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 Steve McCroskey: Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking. Steve McCroskey: Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking. Captain Oveur: I can't tell. Rumack: You can tell me. I'm a doctor. Captain Oveur: No. I mean I'm just not sure. Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess? Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours. Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?
warsash saint Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 The Top Secret film is hilarious ...... the above scene where the people land on the giant pigeon statue is a classic
JohnnyFartPants Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 I have not seen any of these films. You need to address that ASAP old boy!!
bungle Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 You need to address that ASAP old boy!! I did watch "The Battle of the Bulge" over Xmas, though.
Jillyanne Posted 6 January, 2009 Posted 6 January, 2009 I did watch "The Battle of the Bulge" over Xmas, though. Did it help atall?
ericofarabia Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 The smile on the Inflatable Auto Pilot's face .... The little girl ... I take my coffee black , like my men .... Iwo Jima .... But most of all there are so so many little things going on in the back ground that you pick up on the 2nd or 3rd viewing that makes Airplane worth watching over and over again and still find new things to genuinely LOL at.

I totally agree with that, and it's the same with Top Secret. Brilliant films.
Marsdinho Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 You could add "Repossessed" to that list of films as well. In one of the first scenes of the film, Neilson falls down some flights of stairs for about 20 seconds. When he gets to the bottom, you see there were only about 4 steps....LMAO
bungle Posted 7 January, 2009 Posted 7 January, 2009 Did it help atall? Yes, it helped me pass an afternoon as it was a 3 hour "epic".
