This post made me go and have a look at the thread on the Leicester forum when Ranieri was appointed. There was mixed reaction. Some were happy, some weren't. I did like this post though: He doesn't have to win the league, just keep us out of trouble.

We'll see what we are really made of. If Man Utd got Fonte I reckon the league title would become realistic for them, at the moment other teams with better defences will beat them to it imo.

Basically haven't replaced Mane, Wanyama and Pelle, not with the same quality. Hojberg certainly looks like he adds something, probably what we lost with Morgan, that box to box midfielder.

If (and that might be a big if) JRod comes back to what he was before his injury, then we will be better off. Remember, Spurs wanting to sign him for £15m (back in the days when £15m bought you something rather better than it does today).

Our fringe players look stronger or as strong , but the problem is they're not fringe players now, they're starting

Well, Hesketh can't possibly make any less of an impact than Juanmi. Really though, in addition to this mystery left sided attacking player being talked about we need a player to play in front of the back 4 if Puel is going to play Hojbjerg in a more advanced role. Romeu is a good squad player, but not good enough to be relied on as a starter.

Plus as mentioned we had both for 6 months last season. We also Romeu and Wanyama at the same time, Romeu is not Wanyama quality, that physical presence in midfield is clearly lacking. Plus you saw today what we lost in Mane. Still 3 gaps IMO that need replacing if the squad is supposed to be better than last year.

mrfahaji Posted 14 August, 2016 Posted 14 August, 2016 Been having a think about who could fit the bill of the description one of the supposed ITKs gave a few pages back. I am not for one moment suggesting this should be the player we go for, mainly because I have no idea if he's any good, but Kostas Mitroglou fits the bill in many ways - appeared briefly in England after a good early career, went off the radar and had a bit of a "waste of money" tag, last season scored quite a few goals for Benfica, is left footed and can play either as a striker or a support striker. Also 28, a bit younger than Pelle. Only thing is I haven't seen him mentioned and the ITK said he had been. Also, surely wouldn't be a club record transfer...? Anyway, just a suggestion.
