beavis17 Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Smells like Bas Dost to me. They are physically similar, no?
Gingar Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Smells like Bas Dost to me. Guan said earlier the player plays on the left side of attack and he is not physically akin to Pelle, i dont think Bas Dost plays on the left (might be wrong) and also Pelle and Bas Dost are both fairly similar physically, unless i am reading too much into the comments i wouldn't have thought it is him.
CB Fry Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Smells like Bas Dost to me. Isn't he physically similar to Pelle?
S-Clarke Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Quincy? Gignac? To be fair, it could be anyone.
harriesss Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 *Bump* Can probably cross off berahino, barker, Bruma, chadli, depay, grealish, Januzaj (obviously), rog, Muniain, odegaard, ounas, chamberlain, praet, Quintero, tello and slimani then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CB Fry Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Supersaint's list is the Guess Who board of our big summer signing. Although the correct answer might not be on it.
beavis17 Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 We're not signing Kevin Gameiro are we? The player that joined Atletico Madrid two weeks ago?
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Smells like Bas Dost to me. Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 I reckon nothing will happen until this thread reaches 100 pages
Batman Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description. good shout. Been linked with him before also
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description. Or, Carlos Vela...
angelman Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 I reckon nothing will happen until this thread reaches 100 pages So does that mean if we all post ****** (like this post) and get to 100 pages more quickly, then that will speed up a signing?
saint77 Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description. Could be right http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/former-manchester-united-striker-javier-8560876
laughba Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 A player who has gone through a 'Pelle' phase of being solid and now very good in a foreign league.. Without the nightmare phase Pelle had. Not Physically akin to Pelle you understand. And a few years younger. Player is keen, club want to keep him/or maybe are just playing hardball with our valuation. That really is as much as I can say. El Ghazi?
Cartman Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Let's see... Pellè like career showing early promise and playing for the under-21s of a major country before disappearing to a secondary league and then having a very good last 18 months which caught our attention, left winger though probably not a touchline hugging one... Jonathan Viera of Las Palmas!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Viera https://www.whoscored.com/Players/91304 http://www.transfermarkt.com/jonathan-viera/profil/spieler/153238
CB Fry Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 El Ghazi? I have researched him on Wikipedia and it's a yes from me. I don't want us to sign any too old ex-Man U or Arsenal Mexicans.
stevy777_x Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Could be right http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/former-manchester-united-striker-javier-8560876 Checked all through the leagues and was just about to post that it may be him. Some on here are quicker than me. He is the the one that fits the description the most. Not built like Pelle a few years younger, was solid at Man U and is now scoring loads for Leverkusen. We ve been linked with him for the last 2 years. Was apparently not keen to join us in the past so if it is him i wonder what has made him. He would be a fantastic signing in my view.

It also could be Carlos Vela though - he's been brilliant in Spain.
Wade Garrett Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Still think it's Marsden, or possibly David Armstrong.
MarkSFC Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Still think it's Marsden, or possibly David Armstrong. The latter was a million times better!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint_Tony Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 From what Guan has said, I think Hernandez fits. His description indicates to me a player who has played in PL then moved abroad. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
saintrich Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Sounds more like Carlos Vela than Hernandez, the other poster EBS said it was a player he'd heard of, but didn't know too much about.
Badger Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description. A good spot. But he was pretty keen NOT to join us when previously linked, so can't see why he'd be so keen now. (apart from more £££ in England than the Bundesliga perhaps).
Nordic Saint Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Sounds more like Carlos Vela than Hernandez, the other poster EBS said it was a player he'd heard of, but didn't know too much about. Carlos Vela was on loan at West Brom but they didn't think he was good enough for them and he spent most of the time on the subs bench so let's hope it's not him.
Badger Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Carlos Vela looks pretty nondescript from what I've read of him, not sure we'd be going overboard to bring him in.
wireframebox Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 The left foot really does limit the options! A bit left field... ... but Shinji Kagawa?
Fabrice29 Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 From what Guan has said, I think Hernandez fits. His description indicates to me a player who has played in PL then moved abroad. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk Ummm...other than the fact that Hernandez isn't a left sided attacker you mean? Carlos Vela suits much more but I'm pretty sure Guan would have said if he had played in the Premier League before...wouldn't you Guan?
shirleysfc Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Slimami seems to fit the description. Slimani for me too, especially as Everton have apparently bid for him.
trousers Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Sounds more like Carlos Vela than Hernandez, the other poster EBS said it was a player he'd heard of, but didn't know too much about. This. If EBS and Guan are talking about the same player then Hernandez is too well known to fit both their clues.
Wade Garrett Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 This. If EBS and Guan are talking about the same player then Hernandez is too well known to fit both their clues. This is like a cryptic clue from 3-2-1. Guan, is it Dusty Bin?
nta786 Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Louis Nani. But then he is really well known and his age doesn't fit with our type of signings.
Bewildered Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 This. If EBS and Guan are talking about the same player then Hernandez is too well known to fit both their clues. I don't know...Vela's form has dipped for the last couple of seasons. He's still solid now, but the period where he was very good ended 2 seasons ago.
doggface Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 TFC being my 2nd club as a local now, would be delighted with Sebastian Giovinco who is playing some amazing stuff right now. Played on the left at Juve but more of a CF now. No previous interest as far as I know but I would love to see him in the PL at our club.
Nolan Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Javier Hernandez also fits the long term target.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/11023688/Southampton-still-holding-out-hope-of-signing-Javier-Hernandez-from-Manchester-United.html

I was thinking this, but he's age doesn't quite fit the description. Did I also imagine that they're left footed? Not many of those suggested are?
SuperSAINT Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Would it be Boufal, I hope Unfortunately not.
CB Fry Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Lorenzo Insigne CB Fry and Wikipedia say yes please.
Bewildered Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Lorenzo Insigne http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/08/11/ss-report-newcastle-united-offer-around-82500-per-week-contract/ According to this, reports in Italy are saying Newcastle trying to sign him. But it does mention that Inisgne is keen to leave Napoli as they didn't offer him a good enough contract renewal. Would also explain the stubborn stance of the selling club as Napoli's president is a notoriously tough negotiator.
vivasadio Posted 12 August, 2016 Posted 12 August, 2016 Now Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the problem has arisen because of a dispute over wages, with Fabio Andreotti admitting that the contract on offer “doesn’t satisfy us”. It’s reported that Insigne is being offered €2.5m per season to renew his contract until 2021. However, the Italian international and his agent are holding out for €3.5m, hence the ongoing problems with a renewal. Won't be Insigne.

Especially considering VVD, Forster, Bertrand and Tadic got new deals this summer.
