Viking Saint Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Confirmed that Dost has signed for Sporting...
Saint_clark Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 I go to a few games here and there but the snobbery of people thinking they know about what happens because they went is funny because you'll have a better idea of how we played from watching it on TV as you'll have the benefits of replays for key decisions and a better view of the whole pitch, so people that watch online are probably the best opinions to listen to on how we played. Swings and roundabouts tbf. Watching online/on TV you can't see the runs that are/aren't made off the ball...and sometimes you might miss something because the camera is pointing at a manager, or on a crowd shot, or showing a replay. Confirmed that Dost has signed for Sporting... That's annoying, think he would have been outstanding for us.
Minsk Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Getting down to nitty-gritty time. Let's get Bouffal over the line (although I wish we hadn't blown our wad on a player currently injured, having not had a pre-season and likely to bog-off for a while in January); then let's bring in either Berahinno or Ings; keep JRod here; and I would love us to bring in a DM better than Romeu (but I am sure that one is even less likely than bringing another striker in).

Too injured to play for us but a dead cert to play in AFCON.
OldNick Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 I still would like us to buy Will Hughes from Derby.
Faz Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 I assumed people mainly just liked his name. He's signed for someone else now anyway hasn't he? I thought Bas Dost was the name of a pinball machine in Phoenix Nights
Minsk Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Too injured to play for us but a dead cert to play in AFCON. I said 'likely' to bog-off in January, not dead cert. However, I will explain it for you none the less......... It is now August; already three games into the season. He hasn't played since May. From all reports I've read he will be ready to start training in about 3 weeks. How long after that until he is fit enough to start a match? How long after that will he be fit enough to complete 90 minutes? I don't know the answers to either, but a rough guess would be: fit enough to play some part mid-end October; fit enough to play a full 90, mid Nov. Fit enough to go to ACON in January? Yes. Personally, I would have preferred us to buy our 'top' player way before the season started - and for him to be fit and available for all our matches. Still, I'm sure Bouffal will prove to be the best player we have ever signed and I will forever be shamed by this post.
SuperSAINT Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Question for the ITK's -- Are we to assume that we will now only be signing 1 player (e.g. Boufal) if J-Rod is staying?
Saint_lambden Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Oliver Burke, who a few on here mentioned would be a great signing for us, has joined newly promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig for a fee reported to be around £13m-£15m.

That is one bizarre transfer, would have thought an English club would have stepped in
CZillwood Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Some people have said on twitter that Boufal had a medical today but failed it, due to have another tomorrow. Any truth behind this?
SuperSAINT Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Some people have said on twitter that Boufal had a medical today but failed it, due to have another tomorrow. Any truth behind this? I blame Puel & the diamond formation!
Bewildered Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Some people have said on twitter that Boufal had a medical today but failed it, due to have another tomorrow. Any truth behind this? Just some wum talking **** on Twitter it looks like.
jimmysaint7 Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Some people have said on twitter that Boufal had a medical today but failed it, due to have another tomorrow. Any truth behind this? I doubt it.if he failed medical today he wouldn't pass one tomorrow
Katalinic Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 (edited) Some people have said on twitter that Boufal had a medical today but failed it, due to have another tomorrow. Any truth behind this? Sofiane #Boufal devrait passer une seconde visite médicale demain après des tests du genou non concluants #SB7 #TeamBoufal Knee tests inconclusive, second medical tomorrow. I expect Les will be on the phone to Steaua just in case... Edited 28 August, 2016 by Katalinic
EBS1980 Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 I doubt it.if he failed medical today he wouldn't pass one tomorrow Maybe he is going to do some extra revision over night so he can pass it second time round!
Batman Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Risky business going for someone recovering from a serious injury
SuperSAINT Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Sofiane #Boufal devrait passer une seconde visite médicale demain après des tests du genou non concluants #SB7 #TeamBoufal Knee tests inconclusive, second medical tomorrow. I expect Les will be on the phone to Steaua just in case... Stanciu all but signed up by Anderlecht, I believe.
Batman Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Get on the blower to Levy. Get Chadli on the bus
New Forest Steve Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Maybe he is going to do some extra revision over night so he can pass it second time round!
VivaElTri Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Read that Boufal followed Redmond on instagram, don't know if it means anything or if its true
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Sofiane #Boufal devrait passer une seconde visite médicale demain après des tests du genou non concluants #SB7 #TeamBoufal Knee tests inconclusive, second medical tomorrow. I expect Les will be on the phone to Steaua just in case... Wonder if any of our bona fide ITKs could confirm or deny this? Could be a precaution to make sure we're spending a record sum wisely.
JxgrSaint Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Read that Boufal followed Redmond on instagram, don't know if it means anything or if its true It was a joke - he actually followed Thierry Henry...
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! Instead of Boufal?? Maybe there is something in this failed medical business?
Katalinic Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! We are leaving it late....is this in addition to Boufal or....
parkiben Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Let's all be honest here, Boufal hasn't failed a medical has he. It's all rumours from the wonderful world of twitter
Saint Billy Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 There's alot of people hearing rumours on a Sunday night!
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 A smell of desperation..... Genuinely what has happened this summer - I normally get the feeling we are a well run club and organised. This summer something feels different
CB Fry Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! Happy new shortened username. I did that once, true story.
Give it to Ron Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! Is this the one from Empoli.? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Bewildered Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! Seems strange to have Tadic, Boufal and another number 10 if the manager will only play one attack minded player in the diamond
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Seems strange to have Tadic, Boufal and another number 10 if the manager will only play one attack minded player in the diamond Unless we play Boufal as one of the split strikers, maybe?
goneawol Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Stanciu all but signed up by Anderlecht, I believe. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/anderlecht-sign-romanias-stanciu-195448446--sow.html
SuperSAINT Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Hearing we are interested in a no 10 that no one has mentioned and are about to bid! Crikey! I thought we'd have covered everyone on earth in 124 pages!

Saint_clark Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 That is one bizarre transfer, would have thought an English club would have stepped in It's refreshing to see a young English player going abroad to be honest. Hope he does better than Dale Jennings.
Dazza82 Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 It's refreshing to see a young English player going abroad to be honest. Hope he does better than Dale Jennings. He is Scottish, wow Forgot about Dale Jennings
Bewildered Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Yes. The article that discussed our interest in him in the English edition of gazetta dello sport suggested we would struggle to convince Empoli to sell so soon before the deadline and to convince the player to leave Italy.
Dazza82 Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Yes. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/riccardo-saponara/leistungsdaten/spieler/88909 This player?
Saint_clark Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 He is Scottish, wow Forgot about Dale Jennings British then. Yep, Jennings is currently without a club after being released by MK Dons for being overweight.
Heisenberg Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/riccardo-saponara/leistungsdaten/spieler/88909 This player? FFS we must be well down our "wanted list" Shocking transfer window for us
Saint_clark Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 FFS we must be well down our "wanted list" Shocking transfer window for us Van Dijk wasn't top of our wanted list, that was Aldeweireld.
Saint86 Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 Van Dijk wasn't top of our wanted list, that was Aldeweireld. We wanted both.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 there really are some bloody drama queens on here.......either that or a bunch of kids that want to see how many people they can wind up with their ridiculous "doom mongering" comments!!!
New Forest Steve Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 there really are some bloody drama queens on here.......either that or a bunch of kids that want to see how many people they can wind up with their ridiculous "doom mongering" comments!!! Hehe ... and this thread's relatively 'lite' .... check out the Puel and the Diamond ones
ART Posted 28 August, 2016 Posted 28 August, 2016 How many clubs would have been ready 2 years ago, after his injury, to pay 21 millions for JRod? We come across as real suckers for being ready to sign the walking wounded. Is Spurs Ryan Mason still available?
