Smells like Bas Dost to me.

Guan said earlier the player plays on the left side of attack and he is not physically akin to Pelle, i dont think Bas Dost plays on the left (might be wrong) and also Pelle and Bas Dost are both fairly similar physically, unless i am reading too much into the comments i wouldn't have thought it is him.

*Bump*

Can probably cross off berahino, barker, Bruma, chadli, depay, grealish, Januzaj (obviously), rog, Muniain, odegaard, ounas, chamberlain, praet, Quintero, tello and slimani then.

I reckon nothing will happen until this thread reaches 100 pages

So does that mean if we all post ****** (like this post) and get to 100 pages more quickly, then that will speed up a signing?

A player who has gone through a 'Pelle' phase of being solid and now very good in a foreign league.. Without the nightmare phase Pelle had. Not Physically akin to Pelle you understand. And a few years younger. Player is keen, club want to keep him/or maybe are just playing hardball with our valuation. That really is as much as I can say.

El Ghazi?

Let's see...

Pellè like career showing early promise and playing for the under-21s of a major country before disappearing to a secondary league and then having a very good last 18 months which caught our attention, left winger though probably not a touchline hugging one...

Jonathan Viera of Las Palmas!!!

El Ghazi?

I have researched him on Wikipedia and it's a yes from me.

I don't want us to sign any too old ex-Man U or Arsenal Mexicans.

Checked all through the leagues and was just about to post that it may be him. Some on here are quicker than me.

He is the the one that fits the description the most.

Not built like Pelle a few years younger, was solid at Man U and is now scoring loads for Leverkusen.

We ve been linked with him for the last 2 years. Was apparently not keen to join us in the past so if it is him i wonder what has made him.

He would be a fantastic signing in my view.

It also could be Carlos Vela though - he's been brilliant in Spain.

Still think it's Marsden, or possibly David Armstrong.

The latter was a million times better!!

Nope, Javier Hernandez. Pretty sure with that description.

A good spot.

But he was pretty keen NOT to join us when previously linked, so can't see why he'd be so keen now. (apart from more £££ in England than the Bundesliga perhaps).

Sounds more like Carlos Vela than Hernandez, the other poster EBS said it was a player he'd heard of, but didn't know too much about.

Carlos Vela was on loan at West Brom but they didn't think he was good enough for them and he spent most of the time on the subs bench so let's hope it's not him.

From what Guan has said, I think Hernandez fits. His description indicates to me a player who has played in PL then moved abroad.

Ummm...other than the fact that Hernandez isn't a left sided attacker you mean? Carlos Vela suits much more but I'm pretty sure Guan would have said if he had played in the Premier League before...wouldn't you Guan?

This.

If EBS and Guan are talking about the same player then Hernandez is too well known to fit both their clues.

This.

This is like a cryptic clue from 3-2-1.

Guan, is it Dusty Bin?

I don't know...Vela's form has dipped for the last couple of seasons. He's still solid now, but the period where he was very good ended 2 seasons ago.

TFC being my 2nd club as a local now, would be delighted with Sebastian Giovinco who is playing some amazing stuff right now.

Played on the left at Juve but more of a CF now. No previous interest as far as I know but I would love to see him in the PL at our club.

I was thinking this, but he's age doesn't quite fit the description.

Did I also imagine that they're left footed? Not many of those suggested are?

Lorenzo Insigne

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/08/11/ss-report-newcastle-united-offer-around-82500-per-week-contract/

According to this, reports in Italy are saying Newcastle trying to sign him. But it does mention that Inisgne is keen to leave Napoli as they didn't offer him a good enough contract renewal. Would also explain the stubborn stance of the selling club as Napoli's president is a notoriously tough negotiator.

Now Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the problem has arisen because of a dispute over wages, with Fabio Andreotti admitting that the contract on offer “doesn’t satisfy us”.

It’s reported that Insigne is being offered €2.5m per season to renew his contract until 2021.

However, the Italian international and his agent are holding out for €3.5m, hence the ongoing problems with a renewal.

Won't be Insigne.

thats £58,000 per week, we probably have players at the club earning that much, if not more already. Especially considering VVD, Forster, Bertrand and Tadic got new deals this summer.
