mrfahaji Posted 9 May, 2016 Share Posted 9 May, 2016 Following ladysaint's post a while back I pointed out that it was flawed and that actually Saints were, albeit bizarrely, beating all the teams they hadn't managed to beat first time around and vice versa. This trend has continued nearly all season whereby only three teams have been a repeat (in terms of win/not win). Maybe I should have started an anti-hypothesis after all! Hopefully Palace doesn't become the fourth game... An impressive feat to beat nearly every team in a season. We used to be Palace's bogey team I think, but this has turned round recently, time to get back to old habits!
Shroppie Posted 10 May, 2016 Share Posted 10 May, 2016 Bloody Everton ruined the chance of it happening, but otherwise we are looking good. I suspect though that that wasn't quite what you two were meaning! I did say there was a 1% chance, not thst it was impossible. ? So the 99% won, but only just (assuming we beat Palace). BTW, my post wasn't sarcastic, pessimistic or even negative. I'd have been as happy as anyone if we'd done it! Whitey Grandad Posted 10 May, 2016 Share Posted 10 May, 2016 Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. But only for an infinitesimally short time. It spends infinitely more time wrong than it does right.

Shroppie Posted 10 May, 2016 Share Posted 10 May, 2016 But only for an infinitesimally short time. It spends infinitely more time wrong than it does right. Indeed. It can be argued that an instant is no time at all. A stopped clock goes from being fast to slow so must have passed instantaneously through being right, but was not right for any time at all. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk My post on the other hand was blithely optimistic to counter some posters who were being overly negative. Everton away is a bogey team, but they are crap at the moment, so a draw might have been an expectation. Villa you would hope to win as well as Palace at home (but we'll see). The other two games - I guess most would have prepared for the worst and no points, happily taken 3 points butsettled for 2, been ecstatic with 4 and disbelieved we could/would get 6. Super_Uwe Posted 10 May, 2016 Share Posted 10 May, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35180064 Amazing the way the team has turned it around. If we can beat Palace that will be 39 points from our last 18 games! Fingers crossed we can secure a Europa League spot now. It would be absolutely brilliant if we could manage that.
