Bad Wolf Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 Seriously. It's not great is it. Wanyama (x3), Schiederlin, Bertrand, Fonte and JWP have all been sent off under him and I could well be missing some. I'd be interested to see his average red card to game percentage. It must be through the roof, seven red cards in a year and a half in charge is actually pretty bad.
S-Clarke Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 Not sure how you can label that at the manager, some of them have been ref clangers and other's have been players just losing their heads. (Mane and Wanyama spring to mind)

Turkish Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 Koeman clearly tells players to get set off to give him an excuse for our poor form as he isn't interested and is managing his way out of saints. You can tell that from his body language the last few weeks.

Bad Wolf Posted 6 March, 2016 Author Share Posted 6 March, 2016 Oh yes and Mane. I'm not trying to slate Koeman, I love him. I'm just saying it's the one area of the game, under him, that worries me and I don't think it's a coincidence, that's all.

Stud mark of doom Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 It could be down to the manager (Ian branfoot brings to mind) but in this case it pretty clearly isn't.
Fan The Flames Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 How can this be the managers fault. You can't attribute the sendings off to the style of play or level of aggression and you can't say that the managers behaviour encourages it. adrian lord Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 It is the modern laws and the way they are enforced. Loads of sending offs in loads of games I've seen on the telly the last few weeks. Bookings dished out like confetti...and 2 bookings and you are off. Be interested to see how this season's Prem red card stats compare to previous years at the end of the season. Coxford_lou Posted 6 March, 2016 Share Posted 6 March, 2016 Didn't Koeman say a few games back how we need to toughen up? It could be a consequence of the need for us to be less of a 'nice' team, and we're just not very good at it yet!
plod Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 How many Red Cards have we appealed. They have to for this one, Mane could be banned for several games otherwise
Saint_clark Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 How many Red Cards have we appealed. They have to for this one, Mane could be banned for several games otherwise I was stunned they didn't appeal the Wanyama one which was worth it just for the fact he made very little actual contact. If they don't appeal this one then there is clearly some weird club policy on red cards that we don't know about...

austsaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 Has to be appealed and has to be rescinded.
dronskisaint Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 Terrible decision for the red but I thought Lee Mason did ok generally. Cast iron on appeal I would think.

Matthew Le God Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 It was barely a foul, let alone a yellow. To give a red enters the ridiculous. If it isn't reminded there is something wrong with football. The Stoke player should really be punished for rolling around on the floor holding part of his head that wasn't touched in order to get Mane sent off. RinNY Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 I should think Mane's red card will be appealed and rescinded: he barely touched the Stoke player, in a perfectly normal "coming together"; certainly no elbow. Mason just misread it.

Charlie Wayman Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 Mason gave us very little except cards today yet did nothing against the Stoke's bully boys at the back for worse tackles than Clasie's and of course the Mane decision should earn Mason a three-match ban and a return to the championship. Had it been Oscar or Hazard instead of Tadic we'd have been given a penalty and Butland would have received a red. Funny old game when you win but bloody frustrating as hell if you lose as well. ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 The refereeing is becoming laughable now, the red card is the most ridiculous decision I have seen in a hell of a long time. A TV review please, soon as
Shance Posted 12 March, 2016 Share Posted 12 March, 2016 Will be interesting to see what happens to Costa now. He clearly goes in to bite Barry. Even more shocking though, that's his first red card since joining Chelsea I believe!!
