SKD Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 It's been awful for a while now.. We always seem to take decent numbers, but the atmosphere is flat. We only seem to sing 2 songs (OWTS and WTFILN). Heard a group of young lads at half time trying to get one going for Cedric to the tune of She Electric - Oasis and Romeu to the tune of La Bamba (a little less original, but catchy nevertheless) So... Suggestions of any new songs below (not just a rehash of what every other clubs sings) and help get these on the terraces!
lickierambert Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 To be fair, the games away from home have been dull as anything this season. 11 goals scored and 13 conceded in 14 games and I'd say only 2 games (Chelsea and Newcastle) have been anything close to interesting In fact I'd say this is the most dull season since 2005-2006
gr00031 Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 The lads who were trying to sing the Cedric song were doing it constantly for around 15 minutes away at Arsenal. Think it's safe to say everyone else nearby was getting annoyed by their constant repeating of the song (well I was anyway)

Griffo Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 The VVD song to Achey Breaky Heart on Tuesday was almost worse than the performance. Thanks for reminding me of that. F*cking awful rip off. Our away support is the worst it's ever been in my memory. Nothing will change either, a huge percentage of our travelling support stand there and have no interest in making any noise whatsoever. The sooner we get relegated the better.

Griffo Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 I think this one has come from block 39. It's come from West Ham, and was original-ish. Then Arsenal copied it for Ozil and have been laughed at for it.. And now look, Saints have copied it which is even worse.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 Are there rules away fans have to follow? Perhaps they could be printed on the back of the tickets or a pamphlet handed out on supporter etiquette
Golden Balls Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 Yep, too many day trippers, support at Old Trafford was alright, but that's all I can remember of late. Was with a united season ticket holder on Wednesday night. He said we're the loudest they've had at the ground this season and we were the loudest last season. So the others must have been terrible. The Cat Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 Chelsea was good but it should be when you're 3-1 up. Would have been great with the full allocation.

Nothing will change either, a huge percentage of our travelling support stand there and have no interest in making any noise whatsoever. The sooner we get relegated the better. Usually i agree with things your posts but that just isn't true, in the late 90s when we struggled to take more than three hundred north of Birmingham and our support in London for games that weren't relegation deciders was made up of very quiet families, we were far worse than we are now. The Championship and League One improved our support no end - home and away - but now we're an established Premier League side again a lot of the support has changed and like ever Prem side it's getting worse year on year. Pat from Poole Posted 4 March, 2016 Share Posted 4 March, 2016 Not making excuses for the fans, but sometimes it helps if the games are really entertaining, and / or if Saints are playing really high-tempo aggressive football. We'll tend to do that more at home games than away games. I also think the lack of tackling does little for the atmos. Many a time this season, I've thought that if a neutral were watching a Saints game, they would have been utterly bored. However, I don't blame Koeman, I'd far rather we were hard to beat than a pushover.

The prices and availability for some games are the biggest factor if you compare our support to our lower league years.

mrfahaji Posted 5 March, 2016 Share Posted 5 March, 2016 Even though I'm usually quite disparaging about our ability to come up with good songs, I've heard the "Tadic to Graziano" (Pilot - Magic) before and that's pretty good. Obviously it's difficult to use that when they're not playing though...!
