Paul Chuckle Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 I know there are a few games to go but who will win it this season? I'm finding it hard to pick someone who has been consistent through out the season. Would probably have to say Shane Long but what's everyone else's opinion?
JakkoUK Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Definitely Van Dijk he's been the standout player, even in games where we have been poor. The ball is just a magnet to that guy's head. Long would then be my second for sure.
Chap in the Chapel Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Virgil, clearly. Honourable mentions for Bertrand, Fonte, and Long.
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Virgil - absolutely no one else currently comes close.
Saint_clark Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Virgil, clearly. Honourable mentions for Bertrand, Fonte, and Long. Fonte has been solid but nothing more this season. I hope we're looking to get someone in his position next season with him dropping to the bench.
tpbury Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Verge. I fell in love with him first game. Very few mistakes, I'm not sure if anyone could have stopped Chelsea's second. Apart from that, totally reliable in the air, confident on the ball with good distribution. Class all over and we'll be lucky to keep hold of him.
Noodles34 Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Fonte has been solid but nothing more this season. I hope we're looking to get someone in his position next season with him dropping to the bench. Seriously? He has not put a foot wrong and see at least another season in the first team alongside Virgil's replacement.
Turkish Posted 2 March, 2016 Posted 2 March, 2016 Shane long. An absolute talisman. When he scores we rarely lose, top scorer despite rarely starting and proven himself to be undroppable. Well worth the fee.
Pilchards Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 No one for Pelle or Mane then? If someone said they would not score again from October 2015 to the present day you would be shocked. Virgil and Long for me.
Batman Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 No one for Pelle or Mane then? If someone said they would not score again from October 2015 to the present day you would be shocked. Virgil and Long for me. mane yes, pelle no
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 Tadic, Mr 100% and never say die attitude just shades it
david in sweden Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 VVd or Long ..but for an (outsider)....maybe Clasie... if he continues to improve in remaining games......
ScepticalStan Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 It should of course be Bertrand, who's actually been superb for much of the season despite the hugely varying range of really quite solid performances vs utter dross that we've had served up. VvD is our best player and should be the man we build our defence around for several seasons to come, but Bertrand has been a model of consistency.
Saint86 Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 The thread isn't saints specific... But for saints its VVD or Shane Long. But. Player of the season will not be a saints player. I think it has to be Vardy, Mahrez, Payet and maybe VVD deserves a nomination?
Ewell Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 Ryan Bertrand closely followed by Shane Long. VVD gets a mention but despite looking very good he has been prone to the occasional error.
Saint Garrett Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 Van Dijk, Long or Fonte Shows what an ordinary season it's been this season....strange that we're still fighting for a European spot (maybe not for much longer)
saint-crinny Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 VVD, should win this one with ease really. Consistently strong defensively and great on the ball too, chipping in with goals now and again too. The fact that, as I fumed after the Bournemouth game this week, I still thought Virgil had a good game, speaks volumes. He rarely drops his level, even when others are performing woefully
trousers Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 Tadic, Mr 100% and never say die attitude just shades it Quit the smart arse comments please....
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 3 March, 2016 Posted 3 March, 2016 Quit the smart arse comments please.... It's ok being a smart arse when the smoke of the battle has cleared .....but not until
