Bournemouth Away Build Up Thread

Looking forward to this. What time is everyone getting to Bournemouth? Know a few lads doing most of the day down there, shame the weather looks rubbish. Should be fun and games anyway.

Forster

Cedric

VVD

Fonte

Bertrand

Targett

Romeu

Clasie

Davis

Mane

Austin

I would be tempted to start with Ward-Prowse though as we should dominate the ball. See off the first 20 minutes of their enthusiastic onslaught and we should be alright.

Clustered Prem table between West Ham in 5th and West Brom in 13th, maybe even Palace in 14th. We need to keep picking up points to stay in the top half of that cluster, as any run of poor form like late last year could see us plummet down the table.

Need ideally 4 points at very least from the next two games, and Bournemouth will be the tougher of the two. They'll be well up for it at the Vitality. I'd switch to the back 4 and bung Mané in for Pace.

Put Chelsea behind us.

We should pick up three points from this. Given the run in I want to see Pelle rested - he's not firing on all cylinders and we can't afford to drop points now. Bring him on when/if the game is won and not before.

Long/Austin up front is very dangerous and I think that should be the first choice. Mane running off them would be good but not essential. Other than that the team need to bounce back from a poor ref in the Chelsea game and keep grinding out the results. I don't think Bournemouth have enough in the tank to keep us out.

Mike "look at me with my exaggerated mannerisms" Dean is the ref on Tuesday.........

At the risk of jinxing it, we have a fantastic record against bottom 6 sides since we got promoted.

Since 2012/13, against bottom 6 sides (using finishing positions and 2015/16 current positions):

Played 44

Won 28

Drawn 6

Lost 10

Points per game= 2.05

Win percentage= 63.64%

Easy win then. :?

This will be a hard game with a gritty Bournemouth fighting for their lives. They will see this as a 'winnable' game and a chance to pull clear, especially considering the fixtures of Slumberland and Norwich.

I can't imagine Long will play so Charlie and Mane. I think Pelle is a busted flush.

Ffs do you ever post any thing in support of the team you claim to follow.

You really should just pis s off and support your hero's Everton, Stoke, or Palace

I think batman was referring to pamplemousses' post in which 6 points was needed and batman misread that was in the next match ! So a big mix up in quoting posts here [emoji851][emoji851][emoji851]

Fair enough, but his negative s hi te in endless quantity is pathetic

not negative 's hi te' though is it, just a realistic assumption to make.

6 points against two teams who are in a relegation battle (bournemouth arguably not atm) at this stage of the season is always tough- I'd take 4 now, 3 would be 'meh' for a team of our calibre IMO.

as for you, why don't you actually give your opinion instead of criticising others comments and using hindsight to act like a c*nt and a mr 'i told you so'- anyone can do that.:?

If we really do harbour European ambitions then we really do need to be winning games such as these. I fear though that they will want it more due to their predicament. I'm not saying that I'd take a point, but I fear a loss if I gamble. 2 - 1 to the Cherries I fear.

Hello again chaps. Have been interested in watching your impressive last couple of months from amongst you locals, at one point we thought you might just join the dogfight but just a few weeks later and you're in the hunt for Europe! Funny how quick things change.

We're in a far better state than when we came to St Mary's full of injuries and with no idea what our best 11 was. But I suspect you guys are in the better state than back then also.

We've done quite well for the last couple of months, kept the points total ticking away, but with quite a lot of draws. If we could have just turned two of those draws into wins we'd be well clear of the fight. As it is our cushion is unfortunately small. Fundamentally we're a decent enough side, trouble is we have one defensive error per game in us, and we tend to need a couple of good chances to score. Hence a fair few draws. If something could just *click* we'd be a pretty decent outfit, like many sides on our day we are excellent and can beat anyone, but this is a tough level to maintain any consistency an our errors are ruthlessly punished.

If you offered me a defeat tomorrow but a win on Saturday at Newcastle, I'd take it all day long. But its impossible to predict where we might pickup points or not, and we'll be giving this everything as you probably expect. Dean Court under the lights has been the stage for plenty of cracking games for us down the years. But anything we can get tomorrow is probably a bonus in my book.

Try not to take the **** too much as I get the train down and back amoung you all ;)

So which pubs are we designating for Saints use?

I'll be getting down about 3ish (without colours) and going to the Percy Shelley Wetherspoons for something to eat - hopefully will be a few other pubs in the area or someone else will mention some places.
