According to this report Arsenal would listen to offers.

1. Should we be interested?

2. Would he be interested?

3. Would it be a good idea?

For me, for £15m or so he would be a great option in the Davis role in advanced central midfield. Has so much ability and with consistent games could still be a very good player.

Main downside is his injury record but a lot of those are impact injuries where he makes the wrong decisions which potentially can be coached.

Would be good to bring an Academy player "home" but maybe still some ill feeling between the club and his Dad? Plus Chamberlain might obviously have bigger and better offers.

Would be slightly frustrating if a similar sized club to us signed him at a reasonable price.

Been thinking for a few weeks he'd be a great addition if we could tempt Arsenal to sell. Saw an article the other day which said in 100+ league appearances he's finished the full game on just 10 occasions. 5 years and 10 full games. Think about how he would have progressed had he stayed and helped our charge up the leagues.

£15m is praying though. 22 year old England international....we'd be lucky to get him for anything in the 20s.

Would be an excellent signing and should be the goal scoring midfielder we've wanted. I know he doesnt score all that regularly now but as you say, in the Davis role instead of playing deeper or shunted out wide he'd be fantastic, he has a great work ethic and we have seen him score quality goals anyway.

If the club really do see Juanmi as Manes ready made replacement then we can definitely afford him as well once Mane goes.

Not such a crazy idea maybe. What is the average Prem. manager looking for?..A young, ENGLISH player with Premiership and international experience. YES.

AOC has been a valuable squad member for Wenger who doesn't trust him enough to start him ahead of his " favourites " like Ramsey and Wilshere and the countless numbers of " forgettable " Frenchmen he has at the club, but sadly Alex's injury lay-off hasn't helped his career, either.

AOC hasn't had much luck in his time as a sub. in England games, but nevertheless made a good impression whenever he did get on the pitch.

The question of who would he replace?... .is only a matter of time. Teams evolve all the time and you'd have to go back to 1960's to find a Saints team that played "almost" unchanged for more than half-a-season.

I would want to lose Steven Davis (unless he wants away himself)..... but he's past 30 already and HIS sell-by date must be on the horizon. He's contracted until 2018.

BUT..... the thought of a potential midfield based around ....JWP, Clasie and AOC would be quite a revelation.

Price: not a giveaway of course, but if Wenger is "genuinely interested" in Victor Wanyama?.. then " some sort of a deal +/- cash" might be an option, eh Ronald? .

If we qualify for Europe we should definitely get him if we can because he would fill an otherwise pretty useless roster spot. If we don't qualify for Europe, it would depend on other factors like costs, what Koeman thinks of him, and his long term fitness outlook.

The same would go for Walcott and Bale, by the way.

Much as I like his style, I'm afraid that Theo hasn't lived up to some expectations, and IF Gareth Bale were ever to return ..

......he would only play 45 mins per game .....on the wages we could offer him.

I think S. Davis potentially has another season as a starter in him (for us, can see him being a handy starter at another PL level side or maybe Rangers again for a good few seasons yet), although I think he will ultimately be replaced by JWP in the long term and create the midfield you've suggested.

Although the mantra seems to be 'don't look back' for most players, I think AOC would be a good fit for saints and vice versa.

Definitely. He has all the attributes, just suffers from insufficient game time to keep developing. I guess it depends how much he enjoys living in London, partly. Can't see Arse selling him to a "big" club so unless he really wants to stay in London you would hope we would have a chance.

Him and Walcott seem forever to be picking up injuries but I would love him back. He's got a good temperament, works his socks off and would be an ideal replacement for mane. Yes please!!!

Hmm... Lots of injuries.

Most Arsenal players do

Perhaps Wenger ought to look at the training/recovery regimes in place there but thats his problem.

Didn't we once have an injury prevention specialist on the books who p!ssed of to Man Utd ? Was he ever replaced ?

We need to look forwards not backwards. If Arsenal think he is expendable than what good is he to a team who aspire for the Champions League as a rival to Arsenal?

Even if the lad considered coming back here which is extremely doubtful there would be too much baggage on both sides to make a success of a his return.

"Baggage"? His departure was very well handled by both clubs with no rancour whatsoever and he is always applauding Saints fans post match when Arsenal and Saints meet.

Does he want to play for us?

given his career so far ...does he want to play for anyone else, I wonder?

Wages ? ...since joining them as a teenager (from the Championship club we were at the time)....I don't that he'd have started on £100K week - do you ?

..if Arsenal want to let him go...he's not likely to expect much more than he getting now (whatever that is). I still think it's a viable deal.

as for someone else's comment about letting Victor go to them , and OX coming to us . I didn't consider the idea until yesterday..but always saw Victor going to them.

He's not a "replacement " for Victor (I expect that role to be between Romeu + A.N.Other) but as an extra midfielder (aged 22 ) .....it's a no-brainer.

He's hardly set the world alight since he's been there. A bit part role even when not injured. Doesn't even score that many goals either. Sure, he looked good for us, in league one but for the £ he would cost including wages i'm sure we could do better.

Take into consideration that he's being coached by Wenger though. He needs to move for the sake of his career, Wenger is ruining him.

Injury record is a worry but then that could just be an Arsenal thing as there players always seem to be knackered! I'd have him back I think with regular football and confidence he could find his form again which he has definitely shown glimpses of in an Arsenal shirt, same goes for Walcott I'd have him in a heart beat!
