Matty's Caddy Posted 23 February, 2016 Share Posted 23 February, 2016 In a bit of a dilemma really between not wanting the pee taken out of me but not wanting to force him out even though he probably needs it. He's 23. He pays £20 a week at present which is down to his mother You can imagine what this actually covers. Think he takes home a couple of grand a month or just under Thoughts please

sandwichsaint Posted 23 February, 2016 Share Posted 23 February, 2016 depends what he spends the other £1980 on? if he puts away a grand a month you're probably onto a good thing if he's spending 2k a month you're being taken for a ride.

CB Saint Posted 23 February, 2016 Share Posted 23 February, 2016 £200 would be fair What I would do is charge him £600 pm, stick £400 into a saving account and he can use that as a deposit when he gets round to buying
buctootim Posted 23 February, 2016 Share Posted 23 February, 2016 I was paying that when I was 15. 31 years ago. Ditto £21pw for a grotty room in Shirley, no food included in 1980.
Batman Posted 24 February, 2016 Share Posted 24 February, 2016 (edited) Additionally, he's not making any plans of trying to join society surprise surprise. His girlfriend works full time also. Maybe, serve him notice. When he does move out and the costs hit him, he will no doubt come running back to you for more money/handouts the longer he pays 1% rent Edited 24 February, 2016 by Batman
Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 24 February, 2016 Share Posted 24 February, 2016 If you don't need the money charge him £500 a month, and bung it in a savings account for him so he can get a deposit for a house.
