i really can't believe I'm wasting one of my three posts replying to this but I must! If you are serious, you really are in need of Spectacles. If you were joking, you forgot to write, lol.

Impressed with your level of insult Norm. Old school and I must learn to shout it at refs so I don't get the usual glares from fans who don't like such colourful language

Lesson from history. We played 3-5-2/5-3-2 in 1983/84 as it suited the players. Mainly to find a good role for Rueben Agboola. That was some team.

It's similar now. 3-5-2 seems to work. Targett is much better as a wing back in a 5 than a left back in a 4. So keep it as is. Players seem comfortable with it

Your right that was some team! I was 10/11 yrs old at the time and my dad would take me to the dell and I was hooked,Steve Moran was my hero then and still my all time favourite player!

Well, that didn't take long for the thread to slide into insults and strangeness. Anyway, back to the match - there's been a far few draws I believe with Swansea. By all accounts we should win this 0-1 but they've improved lately and I can see a 1-1 on the books messing up the clean sheet record.

Yeah, a draw probably most likely. Watched highlights from their last game and they look a real threat from set-pieces (Largely due to Sigurdsson's delivery).

However, they look dodgy as f*ck defending set-plays.

Wouldn't mind seeing JWP fizz a few corners into the box. Might be some joy for Fonte/Virgil in there.

Agreed. And running at their defence - could be some 'slip-ups' there. One to watch is Clasie - will he start let alone last 90 minutes?

In that case, it's a must win.

Depends what the expectation is now, half the muppets on this forum thought we were going to get relegated four weeks ago. If we want to push for top 6 and europa, then yes it probably is. We don't have too bad a run in, but I have no idea how many points will be required. The top 5 are sorted, but that 6th spot is definitely up for grabs. I only expected mid table, its been our poor performance in the cups that has ****ed me off this season.

JWP or Davis as a right wing back. I guess?

Odd to leave Cedric out unless fitness related, especially with so long until the next game and their fast players.

JWP in there I guess.

Great in regards to set pieces though. Let's see how he does defensively.

Hell of a bench today!

Disappointed that Pelle has come back into the fold somewhat undeservedly, just my opinion of course but we seem by far a lesser threat with him ambling about and sulking. That being said he'll probably score a hat trick today.

No Cedric is an odd one, who gets the right mid duty, JWP perhaps?

well i guess some will be happy that Mane is benched. I really hope Pelle rams the criticism he gets firmly down the throats of those having a go at him...much like Yoshida did last week.

Thats as strong a bench as i've seen for a long time...Mane, Austin and Tadic would be most managers first choice players.

He will. He missed a lot of football this season and is adapting to a new team and has already missed out once with a knock, no point over stretching him.

I reckon we won't see Austin start more than once when Pelle is also fit.

No chance. Pelle is quite clear rons main man. Despite current form. He was atrocious last week and here he is.

Hope to be ridiculed as that will normally mean he scores and saints win. But I think we have seen our all round play is just miles better with other options we have

Why would anyone not want Mane starting, consistently our biggest attacking threat. On performance it's hard to justify Pelle's inclusion. Ron's proved us all wrong recently but this lineup doesn't seem to carry much goal threat.

Not sure you understand the word "must".

I'd like us to win every game, as would the manager and players but that's not quite the same.

But what your missing out is presumerably that it is not the end of the world if we lose or draw this game?

So are you saying that our chances of getting into Europe might be better getting results against Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester, Man city, Spurs and clubs fighting to avoid relegation?.
