paulwantsapint Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Obviously no red card is a good thing but some are less bad 2 yellows for the team - Morgan v Chelsea Last man 25 yards out Others are stupid Mane v Liverpool Wanyama
Saints foreva Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Didn't Olly Lancashire take one for the team in the final minutes against Sheffield Utd in our relegation season?
ericofarabia Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Nothing wrong with Benali v Fashanu either. Any of Franny's 11 Reds were good value. If you are going to et sent off make sure it's worth it!! Wasn't there another one like the one above V West Ham, Paulo Futre launched into the advertising boards and Franny didn't even look at the ref, just started walking off before the red was even brandished~!!
Graffito Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Nothing wrong with Benali v Fashanu either. Never tire of seeing that one. That's how you dealt with the biggest thug in football.
Saint IQ Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Might as well offer him to China for £25 million . Window is still open, and will only be available for 8 more games for us if a 5 game ban.
oldskoolsi Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Jason Dodd v Villa at the end the season 1990's. He was the last man and got a round of applause on the walk back.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Mark Dennis had a few acceptable red cards. At least, no-one was going to argue with them...
kwsaint Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 Never tire of seeing that one. That's how you dealt with the biggest thug in football. I love the way that he doesn't complain getting a red and walks off. If that was nowadays, the red card would be brandished and all hell would break loose.
dan17 Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 I appreciate its not Saints related but this is one of my all time favourite red cards
david in sweden Posted 7 February, 2016 Posted 7 February, 2016 of course there's still one record Victor hasn't got ... ......David Prutton's 10 week suspension, but then again he didn't rough up the referee - (more's the pity considering who it was). (sorry for that .....late night humour, I suppose).

1576 Posted 8 February, 2016 Posted 8 February, 2016 there was, and I have trawled YouTube trying to find it to no avail. it was epic Skip to 7.20
St Mikie Posted 8 February, 2016 Posted 8 February, 2016 Never tire of seeing that one. That's how you dealt with the biggest thug in football. Makes me cry with laughter every time I see that one! Absolutely no interest in the ball wahahahaha
david in sweden Posted 8 February, 2016 Posted 8 February, 2016 Skip to 7.20 interesting to see Bilic (as a player) for WHam, and Iain Dowie .....in his Hammers days....
jasonb Posted 8 February, 2016 Posted 8 February, 2016 I was at the Reebok in Bolton to witness one of Benali's fine red cards. Near the dugouts, smashed someone up in the air, walked straight off down the tunnel. Brilliant. I think he (Franny) may of had his arm in a cast at the time too. You think this sort of thing is eradicated from the game, and certainly the football league/prem it has. However, take a trip to a non-league fixture and robust challenges that make you wince are still prevalent.

Recently watched a Cambridge United game in L2 and a couple of tackles (especially the ones where you could hear the crunch) made you think "ouch". Still only yellow cards though
The9 Posted 9 February, 2016 Posted 9 February, 2016 Franny seems to have made a lot of red card tackles using the entire right side of his body, based on those two clips. Funny to see the applause from the Saints fans in the Fashanu clip.
