It's a better system because it spreads the play more at the back.

Our back five have more time on the ball to pass the game away from the opposition strike force allowing us to build up an attack more frequently.

 

Having said that, there were periods early on where they looked as likely to play the ball from the back as we did in the second half against Liverpool in the League Cup. West Ham just didn't pressurise enough up there. :o
