Wasn't that called The Hyde Tavern when I lived there- up to '79.

In the sixties/seventies it was a good pub, but not our regular-that was the long gone White Horse in Cannon St. where I was in the twiddly footvall team.

A good twiddly football table and jukebox and bar billiards were the prime requirements of a pub in Winchester, and of course Strongs preferably if not Marstons.

No. It used to be The White Swan. Great pub, played cricket for them a few times. Now it is OK, branded as a sports bar. Expensive pint too! But most convenient for the game on Saturday as it is only a 9 iron from the theatre.

I remember watching Michael Thomas' winner vs Liverpool in The Exchange. 1989. In the days when most football players were older than me!

White Swan always used to be a decent pub. Think it had quite a few sports teams drinking there, so would make sense for it to be a sports bars.

The Exchange is still an excellent sports bar.

Exchange over Mucky Duck for me. Better layout, more space and the outside area that's undercover.

Bit more hassle with the longer walk from the Theatre Royal though, not that either are massive treks, but the White Swan/Mucky Duck is a lot closer.
