Golden Balls Posted 31 January, 2016 Share Posted 31 January, 2016 Not sure how true this is but its on their message board too. Sounds like it was all announced at a recent fans forum. They're looking to build a new stadium on the current site. Apparently they were planning on building a new stand however it would make more sense to build a fully purpose built new stadium to continue the recent growth. Very impressive. Hilarious that they'll have a better ground than that lot down the road too. Good luck to them.
Shroppie Posted 31 January, 2016 Share Posted 31 January, 2016 Brilliant. When will the phishy phew realise how far they've fallen? Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Colinjb Posted 31 January, 2016 Share Posted 31 January, 2016 Brilliant news for them. Hopefully there will be no perceived clash of interests in wishing 'Swaythling' as they were founded the best of luck.
saint si Posted 31 January, 2016 Share Posted 31 January, 2016 It's definitely true that they are putting in planning permission for a fully enclosed stadium of that size. No idea if the picture is accurate. Planning process could be interesting as the access around there is pretty poor already.
Wes Tender Posted 1 February, 2016 Share Posted 1 February, 2016 Maybe they could build it on the nearby Stoneham site. Lowe and Cowen could assist them with getting it passed by Eastleigh Borough Council.
Lets B Avenue Posted 1 February, 2016 Share Posted 1 February, 2016 If that drawing is accurate, it would mean turning the pitch round 90 degrees. Back to how it used to be in the good old Swaythling Athletic days.
Pamplemousse Posted 1 February, 2016 Share Posted 1 February, 2016 Surely they'll have to do more than just build a new stadium. Judging by those images, looks like there's a dual carriageway that will be built

I don't think Eastleigh FC are responsible for building the road infrastructure.

No idea if the picture is accurate. Planning process could be interesting as the access around there is pretty poor already. Looks like they are planning to have the entrance on the other side of the site onto the bigger and busier road. That would create issues as well

The Kraken Posted 3 February, 2016 Share Posted 3 February, 2016 Looks like a train track in there as well?? Green strip towards the bottom.
Mr Biscuits Posted 3 February, 2016 Share Posted 3 February, 2016 Good luck to them. Nice to see the local smaller clubs building on success in a sensible manner.
Whitey Grandad Posted 3 February, 2016 Share Posted 3 February, 2016 Looks like a train track in there as well?? Green strip towards the bottom. An extensive tram system would be wonderful and just what this region needs but Hampshire County Council gave up hope of that many years ago when the government wouldn't put up any money. They've given to all to deprived areas up north, probably ones with more votes in the balance.
