I've got quite a few West Ham mates, so big game for me personally. Noble should be in the England squad, Carroll is amazing, Payet is better than Ozil, Song is the best DM in the league, and they have the best fans in the world.....

To be fair, your mate has a point re Payet.

Can't believe there's anyone who'll drop Long . He'll run Collins ragged and has been a major part in our great run lately . I thought the Arsenal back 4 played him well Tuesday , rather than him being off form. Him & Mane are going to click soon and we'll get a hatful . I'd revert to a 3 at the back bringing Targett in for Tadic & Davis back if fit . Austin , Tadic & Pelle on bench gives is pretty good firepower and decent changes .

Like this but with Austin in for Long. Might even try Mane in place of Clasie, and move Clasie into Romeu's place. See what happens with Mane, Austin, and Long on the field together.

-------------------- Forster -----------------------

------- Fonte ------- VvD -------- Bertrand -----

Cedric ------------------------------------ Targett

---------- Wanyama ------ Romeu ---------------

---------------------- Clasie -----------------------

--------- Austin ------------------- Mane -----------

I doubt if sick note Austin will start

Big game for me too as my brother and his two lads are all West Ham fans and we'll be travelling up to the game together. They're thoroughly enjoying this season as they're playing proper football again.

Tough game, they are pretty solid defensively but if Charlie is on the pitch I fancy him to score.

Frazer's on a record 5 cleans so he'll be really pumped up to get it.

Also should be a big incentive to cut the gap between the clubs.

If I was to have a bet I'd probably go for a Saints win but I wouldn't be atall surprised if they got a draw. I don't think they'll win now that we seem to have found our mojo again.

Have they booked their Boat for Their Top 4 Finish Party on The Thames yet? :spaz:

Or are they not so presumptuous as they were in The Promotion Campaign with us

My father in law is a West Ham supporter. He constantly chats shît to me about how great this player of that player is. I've never heard of most of them. Always tells me that Mark Nobel should be in the England squad and that Adrian is the best keeper in the league.

I hope we smash them to bits.

He deserves a prize, at least :):)

Anyone else getting very tired of hearing West Ham bleat on about how they could have signed Austin? Sounds like nothing more than sour grapes to me

Tired of West Ham bleating on full stop to be honest.

don't particularly mind west ham. away games are always fun. friend of a friend who went there just shouted "pie and mash" and "jellied eels" in a barnsley/yorkshire accent the whole time. apparently it was meant to be offensive.

not especially worried bout the game tomorrow....we showed at arsenal that we can keep nice ticky-tacky football at bay, and if they resort to old school lumping balls into the goal, I reckon fraser and fonte/virgil will mop 'em up.

6 pointer this if ever I saw one. Fancy us winning and getting a couple of goals.

Thought he was garbage against Arsenal and for a lot of games, find him frustrating, sloppy, doesn't know what to do with the ball when gets near goal, can't hit the target, give somebody else a chance.

Tough game, despite their not too shabby injury list they've been a decent side for a bit now, BFS-free helps. Expecting a more entertaining occasion than recent encounters at SMS but can still see a stalemate until Chas A comes off the bench late and sticks one in with his knee - "dodgy one" of course - and dedicated to the WH porn barons.

Koeman: "Targett is not fit. Ankle injury. Not major but he is out for tomorrow. Austin is back and in contention to start. Davis is back in training but there is a doubt that he will make the squad. Decision to be made after today's training"

So..... Yoshida in then or a back 4!

So, with Targett out and Davis facing a last minute fitness test, we could be looking at something like this then?

------------------------- Forster ---------------------------

Cedric -------- Fonte --------------- VvD ------ Bertrand

------ Wanyama ------- Clasie --------- JWP-------------

---- Mane --------------- Long ----------------- Tadic ----

Subs: Stek, Yoshida, Martina, Romeu, Juanmi, Pelle, Austin

I'd be tempted to drop Mane....however Im not sure he will be.

Similar team, but think Austin will start instead of Long, would be harsh to drop Romeu as he was excellent Tuesday, however not sure we need both VW and OR against West Ham.

We've had a striker score once in the last 3 games, and that was Austin in his big 20 minutes. The squad needs the front scoring threat, that's why I would like to see him start and play all/most of the match. He brings something that is missing.

Maybe Tadic could play as wingback in place of Targett? Depends if we go back to the 352.

Austin in for Long, Clasie for Romeu/Wanyama. I imagine VvD will be more than a match for Carroll.

Tickets still available apparently....

No way, his energy and work rate is fundamental to how we have turned poor form around

Shame Targett is out. I think the 3 5 2 works against their setup. Just pray we're not tempted to play it with Yoshida.

Not sure either that anyone else can step in at Left Wing Back so guess it will be a back 4.

although we know and understand the meaning behind phrases like " a six-pointer "..or " a must-win game" - they are phrases I abhor (for some inexplicable reason)

However.

...a good look at the table shows that a win for Saints would reduce the gap to only 2 points between the clubs, and if we are to continue our run of successes, we don't want to drop points on this one.

Our performances against the " top sides " has improved this season...gaining points at Liverpool and Arsenal and of course, the wins at Man U and Chelsea but the disapointments come when we play below par and drop points / lose against the middling / lower placed clubs.

Luck has a part in it , but losses at Norwich, WHam and Palace should have been prevented, and losing at home to Stoke and Tottenahm were down to poor play.

from the points situaton....it hard to glory in an away win when we throw away points against lowly-placed teams.

WHam are going through an indifferent period and so we must hope that we can get a convincing win and keep in the hunt for that last Euro spot.

Martina?

Not sure he would be much cop. But rather him than yoshida in the side

But probably be a back 4

Not sure about him on the left. Maybe JWP or Tadic but l would start with a back four and if we're chasing the game later, go to a back three and move Mané to wing back with any combination of Long, Tadic, Pelle and Austin up front.

Or all of them. That would be fun.

I expect we'll bring yoshi in the back 3 and have Bertrand as the left wingback. Yoshi is pretty physical which will be needed is Carroll plays.

Carroll won't start

Virgil will deal with the physical side of things. And not make mistakes.

Just seen the forecast. 50mph winds and heavy rain. Not going to a pretty one.

Just like it was against Stoke when our last bad run started. Just saying.

For the money we spent the new training dome should be able to artificially recreate all weathers for training sessions, bit like the RNLI do with their boat training.
