Home game vs West Ham moved to Saturday 6th February 5.30pm

I've just read that if West ham v Liverpool cup game goes to a replay, then our league game will change from the Monday back to the Saturday at 5.30pm.

So, basically just under a week's notice.

Takes the absolute p##s.

I've now made plans for the Saturday which means I can't go if it gets switched back.

Given the only reason it was changed originally was to cash in on the TV revenue, I assume the club will do the honorable thing and refund my money?

Yeah right...

Only problem with that is that the club didnt change the fixture to cash in on TV revenue as you put it, Sky tell the clubs the games they are covering, end of, how it causes problems for club or supporter is of no concern to them. You cant blame Southampton for this one !

We were told when the tv games were announced that this was the case.

The information has been put there for a long while

Not really blaming the club. It's just frustrating. Why didn't they just move it initially to Saturday 5.30 to avoid this situation?

And didn't see the club announce potential further change to fixture.. I'm a season ticket holder so don't tend to pick up on that level of detail when kick off times are changed as I'm not buying a specific ticket for that game.

Ah well.. Better pay closer attention in future b

I know, when Sky picked the game it was before the 3rd round of the FA Cup so potentially both teams could have been in the fourth round and both subject to a replay.

Once again there is no consideration for the supporter. I give you the Arsenal game Boxing Day at 7.45 as a prime example of not giving a sod !

To be fair, this information is not readily available , especially for older ST holders.

Fair enough.

But I don't know how much more the club can do than what they have done (put the information on the main ticketing page on their site for the game, and put the info on the page with the original tv announcement).

Yes...shame about ST holders who now can't go through no fault of their own......

Same can be said about any game of the season. No game is guaranteed to be 3PM on a Saturday nowadays

You have to admit that you couldn't give a toss as you walked out of the stadium 6" off the ground at the final whistle.

I will still miss it but Mrs JBS and her +1 is far happier with a Saturday evening rather than 8pm on Monday as she has to be up for work at 5am on Tuesday.

season tickets unfortunately. but arranged something for sat.

Ask around your friends and family , Saturday 5.30 kick off time is ideal for many more people than a Monday night you may even find people on here willing to pay for your tickets.

Being a bit of a loser I have a look at ticket sales online when having a quiet day at work, this game had been selling badly and is more expensive cat B prices I'm sure many fans had held off and will now buy.

West Ham will probably sell out now as well for a jolly boys outing to the coast (they are offering free coaches for the game but that sort of thing probably doesn't appeal to most cheeky cockney hammers)

Saturday is always better but now it's moved I see that no trains running between Gillingham to Salisbury.

Looks like I will have to drive.

J

No trains between Salisbury and Southampton either but buses going direct which will take 45-50 mins

There will now be 2x westham fans taking my season tickets in the itchen as saintsfc wont do the right thing and offer me money back on my season ticket.

:mcinnes: considering tickets are still on general sale in their end this seems like a very stupid thing to do. With any luck they'll be outed and chucked out and you'll have your season tickets revoked with no refund.

Completely agree. Why would they even want to go in the home section when tickets are available in their end?

Shame the club can only allow refunds to people who have bought tickets but not to season ticket holders, I know they don't have the ability to refund ST's on a match by match basis but I'm sure it's going to leave a bitter taste in some mouths.

Ask for the money off in some other way, i.e voucher for the megastore or money off next years season ticket.

surely, it is a T&C of buying a ST. Part of the deal for getting the matches at a lower price?

rarely happens and all that...

Probably is part of the t&c never thought of that really. I can make the match and actually prefer it to being a Monday, my post was aimed at what I'd seen from the comments on FB and Twitter. Just seems unfair that despite announcing when tickets went on sale this was possible they still allow people that still bought match tickets regardless a refund whilst not offering at least something to ST holders that can no longer make it.

Firstly you get the matches at lower prices because you "buy in bulk".....pay up front for all league matches and take the chance on whether it will be a good season or not.. Secondly I accept that match dates change and have no major issue with that. Normally these changes are made far enough in advance to make arranging your life easier but a weeks notice is not good enough......absolutely no consideration for fans.

deffo see Sat and Sunday night - 1945-2000 kick off times...probably instead of the 1245 game

All this gnashing of teeth over not getting your money back on a season ticket, you should be able to sell it back to the club, which was one of the benefits with this years season ticket.

You can only sell season ticket back yo club if game is sold out, which it is nowhere near doing yet

My daughter can't make Saturday games... so when it was re-arranged to Monday.. I took the day off and bought tickets for both of us.... now she's in tears... I know it's not the clubs fault... but it's bloomin' frustrating....

Only if the game sells out, and even then you only get a discount off next years season ticket if you choose to buy one.

Err that's strange, the folks who sit next to my wife "sold" their season tickets back to the club before the Leicester game they couldn't attend sold out.

This will not make me popular but it should be remembered that the money sky pay means that you can watch one of the best leagues in the world at a vastly subsidised price (Only a fraction of club revenues now come from ticket sales).

They do not do that out of the goodness of their hearts, but because they can make money and they do that by showing as many games as possible which means moving games to a variety of kickoff times.

there was football before Sky and The EPL mate and i remember it being just as entertaining if not as technically good.

Not technically as good!!? It was technically awful. Do we really want to go back to that?

I´d rather have my team playing in the 2nd best league in the world, seeing world class players and suffer the inconvenience of the odd kickoff change than watch a league on a par with the French league.
