Wrensup Posted 28 January, 2016 Share Posted 28 January, 2016 Yes but he "can't head, jump, run or score goals consistently".......apparently. What Italy were thinking of calling up a striker who ha scored 18 goals in the PL in a season and a half who "can't head, jump, run or score goals consistently"??? You mean 12? the_emu Posted 28 January, 2016 Share Posted 28 January, 2016 Apologies if this is posted elsewhere... interesting figures.. They value Charlie Austin number 1 most likely to move (obv before we snapped him up) @ 10+m and Pelle @ 15+m http://www.football-observatory.com/IMG/pdf/mr06_eng.pdf

supersonic Posted 28 January, 2016 Share Posted 28 January, 2016 Which is why you don't work in the boardroom & are left to post messages on a fans site! Which part of my statement is incorrect? Judged on what I've seen of him it's pretty accurate
Barry the Badger Posted 28 January, 2016 Share Posted 28 January, 2016 I'd want us to get at least half a schlong for him
SaintStinger Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 Crazy to see people seemingly happy to see him go for upto £10m. A man who has scored 25 goals for us so far and broke into the national team while here and scored 4 more for his country too. I say keep him for the rest of this season at least. Fully fit and in a team playing well and confident i think he'll score a good few more. And i think he and Austin would play well together. the saint in winchester Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 Definitely keep. When he's on his game, he's red hot. Admittedly, many times he doesn't look interested and just backs into defenders claiming free kicks all game. But when he's in the mood, he's unplayable. This Leicester link is simply because they let Kramaric go. Not sure if its paper speculation or genuine interest, but Pelle must command over £10M even at 30 and with only a year on his contract. He was at £9M as an Italy hopeful. Now as a regular starter for his country, market value has to be £12-15M. But I still don;t want to sell at this stage. captainchris Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 He has proved he can score goals in the premiership both on the floor and in the air. Don't see what the problem with Pelle is myself. I think you right - You cannot see the problem but it's there....

Bad Wolf Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 They wanted him the summer we signed him. I remember that was the first time I'd ever heard of him, when they were linked. Tell them to up it by a million, plus another 3 million if they get into the CL this season and they have a deal.
scotty Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 Can't help feeling that austin has been brought in to replace him rather than supplement him.

sydenhamssocks Posted 29 January, 2016 Share Posted 29 January, 2016 This. I don't get it. Austin scores one goal and suddenly Pelle is now worthless? Pelle needs to stay at least until the end of the season, then we can test the market. I wouldn't count on Rodriguez for the rest of the season. Long is prone to minor knocks that keep him out for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. And who knows, maybe an Austin/Pelle pairing on the pitch at the same time could bear fruit? and £5m for a Starting XI international for Italy? GTFO... I'd rather keep him a Saint for 18 more months and let him go for free. I think he would play a bunch. Exactly this ! Lot of people seeing Austen as Pelles direct replacement and who knows, he might be, but I think Austen could use Pelle as a foil and play off him better than anyone has so far. Plus I wish Jay Rod well but Can't count him in at the moment.
