Edmonton Saint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Yep. I fear that is too much unnecessary tinkering from Koeman there. Clasie had arguably his best game in a Saints shirt last time out, and Targett is playing very well. Should have kept the same players in the same system IMO.
sadoldgit Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Perhaps we should save the criticism until we know the result and why he has chosen this line up?
derry Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 4-4-2 as Boxing Day. I suspect he has one eye on Saturday.
trousers Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Perhaps we should save the criticism until we know the result and why he has chosen this line up? How quaint
igsey Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Interesting that we've gone back to the 4231 - I guess Arsenal will have been studying our most recent games and the new shape, and now we're going back to the one we stuffed them with in December. Clasie on the bench worries me, I think we'd be much better off dealing with Sanchez and Ozil with him in place of JWP or Romeu. Lack of Austin is worrying for obvious reasons, especially as Koeman said he may be in the starting line up - I can only assume he's got an injury. The good news with the Arsenal line up is that Coquelin isn't starting; the bad news is that neither is Mertesacker.

Saints foreva Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 #SaintsFC boss @RonaldKoeman says @chazaustin9 has not been risked tonight due to a slight knock, but is confident he'll be fit for #WHUFC.

NewYorkSaint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Four thoughts: 1) 4-0 was achieved with back four 2) They will have been expecting a back five. This may be in part an attempt to surprise 3) Romeo/Wanyama/JWP is powerful midfield. Clasie will add energy last 20 mins. 4) Bummed re Austin. But pretty cool to have Pelle avail on bench
Edmonton Saint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 probably thought neither could cope with midweek then Saturday fixture. Arguably we'd rather have them 100% for Saturday rather than 85%. They have just had 10 days off. If professional players cant play two in games in 14 days or so, then I worry about our training methods and our recruitment.

Edmonton Saint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Imagine how confused Wenger will be right now though... Well we will see in a couple of hours whether it was a masterstroke or not. I can't help it, I am a natural pessimist...

I get what your saying but it's all about being at your peak not just muddling through - we have options why not use them?
sadoldgit Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 How quaint I know, I am just an old fashioned boy at heart!
Batman Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Meh, do not expect anything from this game. Good to go back to the set up that beat them pretty convincingly at St Mary's. a point is a bonus IMO
jamesfp1 Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Let's hope we can recreate the performance of the 4-0. Not gona lie tho. Confidence has gone from towering muscular byson to quivering mouse in pj's.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Perhaps we should save the criticism until we know the result and why he has chosen this line up? Not a chance on here mate, nothing like a good write off become a ball is kicked.... Tis the SWF way
striker Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Seems that we're more interested in Saturday, and not looking for too much today.

alpine_saint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Fancied our chances tonight until I saw Austin is missing. Guessing he really is a fitness liability after all.
Saint_clark Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Fancied our chances tonight until I saw Austin is missing. Guessing he really is a fitness liability after all. England have thrown away the Ashes.

tobes8 Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Think there is a free stream on saints fc tonight...

Matthew Le God Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Fancied our chances tonight until I saw Austin is missing. Guessing he really is a fitness liability after all. How do you manage to post something bizarre every single time? Why have you jumped to the conclusion he is a "fitness liability" because he misses the game tonight?
Saint_clark Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Think there is a free stream on saints fc tonight... That's just written match updates isn't it?
pangy Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Vic & Rom in to muscle the midfield,Arsenal can't play a physical game so if we are in there faces from the off we can give ourselves a real chance of snatching something
igsey Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 http://streamendous.com/channel21.php Half decent stream.
gammoncheeks Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Vic & Rom in to muscle the midfield,Arsenal can't play a physical game so if we are in there faces from the off we can give ourselves a real chance of snatching something Arsenal were expecting a back 5 ....so maybe a surprise from Koeman?
Batman Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Got to love the Pundits Cockney Tony Gale saying there are clearly only two teams in the title race. Arsenal and Man City. Must have missed the fact that Leicester are 3 points clear at the top
nta786 Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Not a chance on here mate, nothing like a good write off become a ball is kicked.... Tis the SWF way understand your comment but that would be boring. everything is easy in hindsight and its differences in opinion that lead to good debates.

SNSUN Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 After 3 wins, I'd take a draw tonight. It's almost a 'free shot' for Saints. Decent line up though.
igsey Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Saints looking the better team so far, good save from Forster.
Northernsaint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 What a difference a keeper makes! Forster is top drawer in big games... Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
saintsmike25 Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 This is a much harder game than the home one. We are struggling to get in behind, bit worried about Romau who seems a bit off the pace at times. Mane is not at his best and has given away possession early a few times. Tadic looks keen and is working hard. We just need to go in at HT without conceding and then catch them on the break.
saintsmike25 Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Then Romau hits a world class ball and Long does that... ah frustration.
Toussaint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Ward prowse why didn't you shoot? Where are you watching it!
Northernsaint Posted 2 February, 2016 Posted 2 February, 2016 Romeu being a right hard man. Love it!!! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
