SO16_Saint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 OH YEAH!!! 3 wins in a row 3 clean sheets in a row Austin scores on debut Panic. What panic
DuncanRG Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 We might just win this relegation battle, you know.
Stu Man Do Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Amazing turn around in the space of 2 weeks. You just knew if Austin got a chance he'd bury it!
Andy Durman Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Thoroughly deserved. Tactically spot on. Wanyama immense Mane that's how you finish
Jarakka Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Well I got to hand it to the board, Austin for 4 million? Loving it already. Also 8th in the table, wouldn't have thought it could get this good again around Christmas.
CalneSaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Awesome result......don't give a toss if Manure were poo, it's a win away from home at the theatre of nightmares, sorry dreams!
nta786 Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 What a result. If LVG gets sacked- Koeman's won the battle and the war
BARCELONASAINT Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 I'm a grown man but i was close to crying when Austin scored.....i so hate United and their plastic fans who believe they have a divine right to beat everyone!
Leicestersaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 A third clean sheet and a Charlie Austin goal! Well done Saints - fantastic!
Jonnyboy Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Amazing. Not sure what's changed but Forster being back and Bertrand in a back 3must be part of it. Happy Days. (just a shame about the scouse result).
BotleySaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Amazing. A great start by Austin. Great movement for the goal!
saintant Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Austin powers in the winner! £4 million - what's not to like. Bring on the Gunners.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Three clean sheets for Fraser since his return and debut goal for Austin what more can one ask?
Saint Charlie Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Fairytale stuff. Clinical header from a good delivery. I think we just about deserved to win and were the better side. Very solid in defence, just lacking quality final pass going forward. Clasie and Wanyama both excellent. That sort of display shows why Wanyama always starts when available. Long put a great shift in to unsettle Smalling and Blind. Forster again didn't have anything to do but great presence.
DuncanRG Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Amazing. Not sure what's changed but Forster being back and Bertrand in a back 3must be part of it. Happy Days. (just a shame about the scouse result). It's confidence in each other. The players trust Forster more than Stekelenburg and Bertrand more than Yoshida. Needs a look as we get towards the summer - cause Bertrand will want to be at left back and keep his England place - but for now it's working wonders.
VectisSaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Amazing. Not sure what's changed but Forster being back and Bertrand in a back 3must be part of it. Happy Days. (just a shame about the scouse result). Different formation as you say, Long playing, Forster back, Charlie signing and Pelle nowhere to be seen. Not sure what's changed?
obelisk Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Another great result. This is all down to me though. Couldn't follow the game on Boxing Day when Saints won 4-0 so I've deliberately and unselfishly avoided following the last 3 games live as well. Result 3 wins and no goals conceded. Saints should be paying me for my painstaking work.
bpsaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Charlie Austin, Saints legend!!! Love it, absolutely love it. All the talk will be of Man U this, Man U that but ********, we deserved that win and a work colleague of mine that didn't rate Charlie Austin and thought United would win is in for some abuse!
Toomer Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 That is what you call a perfect weekend Saints win away and Pompey lose at home
simo Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Just when you wanna have a punt on Austin coming on to score the wimmer the in play betting goes down ! Still 3 points will keep me happy
Katalinic Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Superb defensively and in the midfield, Long ran his socks off as usual, Austin doing what he does best and when Fraser came out and claimed that ball in the 93rd it felt like a goal. Brilliant Saints!
DuncanRG Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Isn't that Austin moment exactly what we've been missing, though? Someone to take a chance when it looks like we won't capitalise on a good performance.
Miltonaggro Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Always enjoyed beating Man United Inc since 76, but some wins better than others - a peach today, Clasie better on the day than Schneiderlin, Forster our king of the clean sheets, Koeman better than Van Gaal and may have sacked him, Austin, the player most Saints fans saw as our missing link, scores within minutes on the debut! Eighth place, now to overtake Liverpool and all that baggage. Onwards you beauties!...
Chez Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Excellent performance. Totally strangled United. This formation with Bertrand inside is working a treat.
Pilchards Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 That Rickie Lambert England moment when Charlie scored, an amazing debut and you just knew it was going to happen. However that is the worse Mane performance I've ever seen.
Baird of the land Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Great result. Since i've been critical in the past, i'll say Koeman really got his tactical changes right stopping the momentum they were building. Nice to get revenge for the home loss to them again. Forster makes a big difference. Great to see a modern keeper so good at coming and catching the ball, takes so much pressure off the team. Austin showed his goalscoring instinct, felt like he was still adapting to how Saints play much of the time but had 2 key moments, one a goal and one where he was involved in build up to Romeu almost scoring. Hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg. Didn't really feel Tadic decision worked out especially in the 2nd half when they brought on Mata. At the moment feel we have 5 players vying for 2 attacking slots(Long, Austin, Mane, Tadic, Pelle) which is a very nice position to be in. One again Long was excellent, probably my man of the match.
Kingsland Red Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Fantastic start for Charlie Austin COYR
Wade Garrett Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 There's a good few people at the club that should be patting themselves on the back at the moment. Outstanding result. Brilliant.
John B Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 I would have been happy with a draw but delighted with the win perhaps the draw will come against Arsenal I wonder if Morgan regrets leaving us probably not as he earns loads more cash but if he was still with us we would probably be much higher in the table
skintsaint Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 However that is the worse Mane performance I've ever seen. Thought he ran his socks off defensively - his burst forward and cross for Long where their guy got injured changed the game for us I think, he will have better days going forward thought I agree. Buzzing after the win - Austin winner too :)
adrian lord Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Back to our rightful environs around 8th place. Much more like it.
Badger Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Excellent result. Austin scores on his debut, another clean sheet. Expect RK is trying to hold it in having stuffed his old foe Louis .... Son has already exchanged texts with the glory seeking saps at his school, delighted to see plastics meltdown.
Saint Billy Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Fantastic result and a debut goal for super Charlie, what a day!!
ScepticalStan Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 I'm a grown man but i was close to crying when Austin scored.....i so hate United and their plastic fans who believe they have a divine right to beat everyone! This. Elated to **** over those entitled bunch of cnts
doddisalegend Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Poor game. fantastic result. Austin to be the new Lambert. Most important thing though three clean sheets in a row for the first time this season the defence is looking as good as last season.
Badger Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 I would have been happy with a draw but delighted with the win perhaps the draw will come against Arsenal I wonder if Morgan regrets leaving us probably not as he earns loads more cash but if he was still with us we would probably be much higher in the table Playing regularly as well if he'd stayed. Wonder if his move has jeopardised his place in the French squad.
adrian lord Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 it is always a special pleasure to do over the arrogant Man U and their followers.
Nolan Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 In every single Koeman vs Van Gaal match. In all leagues. The away manager has won. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
badgerx16 Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Just spotted this posted on the BBC : "If this was to be LvG's final Manchester United match, how fitting that the knockout blow was delivered by his great foe Ronald Koeman." We can only hope.
Badger Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Isn't that Austin moment exactly what we've been missing, though? Someone to take a chance when it looks like we won't capitalise on a good performance. Yes. Saw it desribed as a 'free header', and so it might have been, but Pelle would most likely have hit the post, Long headed over. And just for £4m as well. How much have Brendan and Van Gaal spent on forwards in the last two seasons ?
del boy Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 OH YEAH!!! 3 wins in a row 3 clean sheets in a row Austin scores on debut Panic. What panic Bear in mind though this was only Man Utd, there will be many harder tests ahead
Jackie@home Posted 23 January, 2016 Posted 23 January, 2016 Absolutely brilliant! Just what we've been missing, someone to finish off teams when we've been dominating, or someone to take the one chance when we haven't. Typical of the big teams not trying to sign him - the old cliche about if he was called Carlo Austino they would all be in for him is true.
