funkymojo44 Posted 20 January, 2016 Share Posted 20 January, 2016 Anyone own the current adidas all weather jacket? Never get the chance to see these things in the shops locally, so no idea if they are decent enough in the cold weather. Appreciate if any of you chaps have one and have any comment on it https://store.saintsfc.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/0000-11962
The9 Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 The £90 Training Stadium is a long-length winter coat, think that's only in black. The £70 winter "all weather" jacket is a really warm padded coat (which is more puffy than it looks in the pics). I have this in blue/orange, wore in on Saturday when it was freezing and I was toasty. I'm not sure if the "Winter All Weather" - the blue one is the same as the normal (black) all weather, but I think the winter one might be fleece-lined when the black one is the autumn range and may not be. I'm getting one on Saturday but I think having tried it on that it's not as warm as the winter one. Possibly. The Rain Jacket is basically showerproof and not much more. The black "Anthem jacket" with the grey shoulder bits is a thin weird summer jacket type thing which has only poppers and is probably pretty chilly right now. The "training jacket" seems to be basically a zip-fronted tracksuit top to go over the actual tracksuit top which has a side zip on the collar. Whitey Grandad Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 I need a new all-purpose jacket/coat for keeping in the back of the car. My present one is starting to fret at the edges and my wife says it smells of fish and chips. On top of that it's lost its rainproofing. Which would you recommend and would it be an acceptable fashion accessory for a 66 year old white-haired man?

Which would you recommend and would it be an acceptable fashion accessory for a 66 year old white-haired man? I've seen you in black, you looked alright. The most expensive one is the longest length and waterproof, I doubt it'll be warmer than the £70 winter all-weather (also waterproof, and shotcan exploding gin and tonic proof on the train last week). I wore it to a Newport County match and broke my golden rule, it was that effective. No scarf or hat needed last Saturday when it was minus one in York. Might be worth checking if the black all weather has the fleece in the hood/collar area and inside the pockets too like the blue winter all weather. Forgot to mention there's also a quilted-looking Saints crest jacket which isn't adidas branded, no hood but looks quite decent as well, without the stripes down the sleeve which made the wife put a coat back because she said she "looked a bit pikey"! John Boy Saint Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 I think I spotted a few coats under SALE banners, when I peered through the glass as we passed the Stadium Megastore on Saturday Evening. So might be a bargain to be had.

The9 Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 Yeah, they've been on sale since the advert popped up on the scoreboard at the Arsenal match - initially it was buy one get one half price, but they added a few more ranges and dropped the price of most of them. There are still some items at full price though so watch out!
SaintZamboni Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 I have one of these from last season and wear it in Canadian winter. You'll be perfectly comfortable with it over there!
SaintZamboni Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 The winter one I mean!
The9 Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 Last season's were own-brand and you can't still get them, was it from the adidas season before in which case probably only the aesthetics of the design will have changed slightly? Whitey Grandad Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 Can we use our ST vouchers against the sale items?
The9 Posted 21 January, 2016 Share Posted 21 January, 2016 Can we use our ST vouchers against the sale items? Nope. You can barely use them against the full-price shirt!
funkymojo44 Posted 21 January, 2016 Author Share Posted 21 January, 2016 Thanks for the info, really useful. Price comparison, the exact same jacket for the NI team is £57 (all weather), so the saints version with discount ain't bad at £46 http://www.jdsports.co.uk/product/adidas-northern-ireland-all-weather-jacket/191283/ https://store.saintsfc.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/0000-11962
The9 Posted 23 January, 2016 Share Posted 23 January, 2016 Update, as I've just got the black all weather coat. It's nothing like the blue WINTER all-weather, much thinner and more of a raincoat design. The blue winter all weather is padded with fleece lining, the black all weather isn't.
