scotty Posted 18 January, 2016 Posted 18 January, 2016 Anyone else see the place today? I nipped in for a pint and a sandwich on my way to Walhampton, as soon as the food arrived the fire alarms went off and the power cut out. The staff got all the punters out into the car park, ten minutes later a fire engine screamed up and started reeling out the hoses. I had to get on to work by then but noticed on the way home just after 5:30 the pub was still closed, anybody know what happened?

Sour Mash Posted 18 January, 2016 Posted 18 January, 2016 On the subject of Royal Oak pubs, what is happening with the one next to Debenhams in town?

Lets B Avenue Posted 19 January, 2016 Posted 19 January, 2016 Maybe a horse ate someone's lunch. I've seen that happen and was partly responsible.
scotty Posted 19 January, 2016 Author Posted 19 January, 2016 Drove past there today and they seemed to be open again. Hopefully it wasn't too serious. Might drop in for lunch tomorrow, I'm stuck at Lymington every afternoon this week.
Weston Super Saint Posted 19 January, 2016 Posted 19 January, 2016 The burning question is whether you got to eat your sandwich yesterday - alongside the question as to what type of sandwich it was....
scotty Posted 19 January, 2016 Author Posted 19 January, 2016 The burning question is whether you got to eat your sandwich yesterday - alongside the question as to what type of sandwich it was.... I didn't get to touch the sandwich, or even to open the bag of crisps I'd got to go with it. Barely had time to sip my cider. And naturally, being of english stock, the sarnie was cheese and pickle on crusty white bread.
