adrian lord Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 Sorry to be a grammar pedant but the apostrophe is in the wrong place on item 5 as surely the sentence is in the plural, and should be Other Clubs' Transfer Policies. In other words, the transfer policies of the other clubs. Otherwise, jolly good article - thank you.

Wurzel Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 Good article (as always). Think the question in Q7, re Stekelenburg's conceded goals should not be would Forster have saved them, but would Gazzaniga have done so. With FF out for a while what a confidence booster it would have been for PG to have an extended run in the side, and even allowing for an early spell of nerves I doubt we'd have seen much difference between him and MS over a long period. Plus we'd have improved one of our own (i.e. not a loanee) for the future, maybe creating a healthy in-club competition for the #1 spot.

Batman Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 We haven't been largely s***e for ages. Jan 15 - Jan 16 we got 42 points from 38 games a fair amount of time to judge if we are have been largely good or not. is 42 points a decent return over a seasons worth? Was it that low? I thought it would have been nearer 50. 42 is poor.

So 14th place last season then, 13th or 14th the seasons before that. Which is equal to or better than our highest ever finish when the greatest chairman who ever lived was in charge. Andy Durman Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 Forster's injury has played a significant part in our drop in achievement. To me the hunger has also not been there or certainty hasn't been equal to our opponents. Koeman's tinkering and rotation certainly hasn't helped with player esteem. Some of Ronald's systems played have nothing short of fantasy football. When you rely on Pelle and Tadic your speed of play becomes predictable. Targets development has been hindered by Bertrand. Players need the environment to develop. A settled team and time. JWP may be physically stronger, but his confidence will be low.
georgeweahscousin Posted 16 January, 2016 Author Share Posted 16 January, 2016 We haven't been largely s***e for ages. Disagree. I think we have looked pretty poor in some of the games we have won this season. I think we've been largely s***e for a year.
Eric The Red Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 The last 38 league games we have got 48 points. 21 points from our last 17 in 14/15 and 27 from 21 this season. Not great but basically mid table. We should be doing better but we're not sh--e
Saint IQ Posted 16 January, 2016 Share Posted 16 January, 2016 You make some reasonable points but I think the best one is Dr Barry Gale and the subsequent 6-1 & 4-0 Villa and Arsenal thrashings. The club should employ him permanently FFS!

Andy Durman Posted 13 February, 2016 Share Posted 13 February, 2016 Great reading what you wrote a while ago. Looks like my comments are bang on. Let's hope Targett is brought back on the wing as he's better there than Bertrand and Bertrand is moved to left side of the back

Saint Fan CaM Posted 13 February, 2016 Share Posted 13 February, 2016 "With the exception of the West Ham game, he has recreated the dominant home performances we had gotten used to, and defensively the team have been superb on the road." - Don't agree with this bit. I thought we showed dominance by providing a defensive master class with 10 men in the Wet Spam game. Seriously top, top performance even though we only won 1-0 (we could have nicked another on the break twice in the 2nd half as they were pushing for an equaliser). Get what you are saying, but we didn't dominate. We had far less possession than them.

doddisalegend Posted 14 February, 2016 Share Posted 14 February, 2016 Get what you are saying, but we didn't dominate. We had far less possession than them. Leicester have had less possession in almost every game they've played this season. It's not always about just having the ball but what you do with the ball when you've got it. georgeweahscousin Posted 14 February, 2016 Author Share Posted 14 February, 2016 Possession stats don't equate to domination though. True, but can't see any way of justifying that we 'dominated' the West Ham game. Leicester have had less possession in almost every game they've played this season. It's not always about just having the ball but what you do with the ball when you've got it. Again true, but in what way did we dominate West Ham? doddisalegend Posted 14 February, 2016 Share Posted 14 February, 2016 True, but can't see any way of justifying that we 'dominated' the West Ham game. Again true, but in what way did we dominate West Ham? We matched them 1st half but expecting us to dominate a second half played with mostly 10 men would be asking a bit much IMO.
