Current road shirt

I was thinking of buying one of the current road shirts. Green and blue don't really seem like traditional Soton colors, but green does happen to be my favorite color, so why not. Only thing is, last year I bought one of the 2015 shirts only to find that they were reduced in price by 50% two weeks later because of the move to Adidas.

Does anyone think it's likely the current road shirts will be reduced a month from now because they'll have a new design in 2016/17? Or are the road shirts unlikely to change (along with the price) in the near future.

Hey SaintsfanNYC, it'd be totally awesome if you'd buy a southampton saints Soccerball road shirt! I know the colors don't reflect the traditon of the Soccerball club but hell, neither does having some many fans in the US of A! So get your order in and lets bring this one home!

Don't forget to include your zip code otherwise they won't be able to ship it to your condominium.

Probably good to ignore some of our more less-worldly, and ever so slightly rude fans above. Rumour is more than strong that we will have a different kit make next year so probably best to wait.

The f**k is a road shirt?

As for the OP, I do recommend you wait till the end of season, I reckon the football kit will go down up to 50% maybe when they have a mass clearout!

Mind you though, if you aren't quick enough the only sizes ever left are XXL/XXXL/5XL...

i wouldn't image they'd be reduced for a couple/few months yet. It's almost certain that a new kit is brought out every season now so a reduction should happen regardless of the shirt maker but as has been said the popular sizes go quick..which if the generilastions about the USA are right may not be an issue Sorry couldn't resist.

So really it's buy now for the second half of the season, buy at the end of the season at Half price but for an out of date shirt or wait until July/August and pay full price for the new design which will be the latest version which the team will wear for the next 9 months!

Wow! Including CB Fry in in your post referring to dickheads is brave! Stand by.............

For him to explain why he felt the need to take the **** out of someone asking a genuine question. But I guess he just followed a lead earlier in the thread

The kits have been sold off at 75% and then further reduced 50% in recent years from memory. The away (road) shirts tend not to be available in the normal sizes by the time the sales roll around as they are ordered in lower quantities.

If you really want the shirt, I'd order it now.

To those of you with genuine responses, much obliged.

To those of you who love mocking the sportsbally condominium-dwelling American, your condescension is delightful. That said, I've been following Southampton since the days of James Beattie and Claus Lundekvam. I listened to the 2003 FA Cup Final on internet radio when there was no TV coverage in the States. I watched Inigo Idiakez kick it over the bar in the 2007 championship play-offs on a play-by-play ticker on BBC Sports' website because you couldn't find a TV feed of it anywhere in the U.S. I now watch Southampton every week because of NBC's TV deal with the Premier League, I've been to St. Mary's and will go again and invest more than my fair share of time in the club.

If you want to make yourself feel superior toward someone you've never met, go nuts, but let's see you all try to follow a team in the third division from halfway around the world in the mid-2000s when following the Premier League from outside Europe was a challenge. It's tricky, but it's rewarding, except, I suppose, when you run into "Fans" like these.

Ha! Good effort. But don't mind them, they mean no harm. Just typical English p*ss take. Take it as a right of passage - if you get the mick taken out of you, that means you've made it through to the inner sanctum of Saintsweb. It's like an initiation.

Are you making it out to the Arsenal game? A few of us are meeting up at the Compton Arms near Highbury & Islington tube, and you're welcome to join us and experience some more English 'humour' (if you dare) ;) PM me if you'd like the details. But if not - have a great trip, and hopefully we'll win a game for once!

I will indeed be at Emirates for the Arsenal match. Looking forward to a repeat of the 4-nil romp at St. Mary's. I was wondering if there was a Saints bar for the away fans somewhere in the near vicinity. Depending on how I'm feeling after my flight from New York gets in that morning I just may stop in for a few pints.

How did you get tickets in the end?

Someone was good enough to let me use their member numbers to snag a pair. I'll try to repay the favor if they ever come to the States to see the New York Mets.

Can't wait to sit with the Saints fans in the away section. Last year I had to resort to buying general admission tickets to see the Saints at Loftus Road against QPR.

Good effort - have done similar in the past "popping" to NY for the weekend to see a Mariners/Mets game (which turned into a double-header due to a rain delay). Wasn't entirely sure what planet I was on come Monday when I got back to work after flying overnight :)

I watched both playoff legs and the FA cup, they were live on Setanta. You're clearly not diehard enough. ;)

Ha, I'm not sure I even knew what Setanta was back in 2007. I did by 2012, though. I got to watch our promotion back to the Premier League live on a Saturday morning in bed in New York City. The best part was wearing my Saints shirt around town and being amazed at how many strangers stopped me to offer congratulations.
