Norwich Away Build Up Thread

Disappointing result against West Ham but a dominant first half which is the positive to take.

If we can play like we did first half fancy a win.

Any news on Cedric and Pelle injuries? Would start them both for Long and Martina.

1-2 stressful win (Davis and Mane)

What?! You'd drop Long? I really do try to understand other peoples' points of view, but idiots make it really difficult for me.

I'm sure we won't have Pellè. Hopefully we'll have Cédric, in which case I'd go...

Stekelenburg; Cédric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand; Clasie, Wanyama; Mané, S. Davis, Tadić; Long.

Yes; I'd like to see that line up. I thought it odd RK played Mane wide left today rather than more central and in turn Tadic wide right when his creative best seems to be on the other flank or in behind the striker.

I can see a low scoring draw here. Let's go 1-1

I can't be the only one really lacking enthusiasm for this season. The poor summer of dealings we've had has set us back maybe two years and it feels like the PL has moved on without us a little. I look enviously at the high octane football being played by Leicester, Stoke, Spurs and Watford amongst others and feel the style of the Prem has changed quite a lot over the last couple of years. Van Gaal is finding this out too

If we go out to Crystal Palace the week after next, it could be a really long 4 months playing out the remaining games. The thing that encourages me is that I think Ronald recognises changes need to be made. With the significant windfall from the probable Mane sale and the new TV deal, I think we'll see a lot of changes in the playing staff next summer.

Yes I'd drop Long if our top goal scorer is fit as I'm sure Koeman would as well. Otherwise I'd keep Long in.

Any sort of stats avalible on Long vs Pelle in the center forward roll on chances missed / Chances taken? im pretty sure Long is ahead, Pelle wastes far far more chance than long does when plying center forward, and Pelle seems to throw his arms about all the time where long just gets on with it and try's again. Pelles gives the impression he gives up after a while and he is very static, Long is constantly moving around pulling defenders all over the place and not alot of defenders can out pace Long.

Pelle may have scored more goals, but Pelle only gets played in one roll, Long plays on wing 90 % of time so in these games its unfair to judge him when he is being played out of posistion. Would u judge Pelle the same if he played wide right 90 % of games? Of course Pelle would never play wide right he dnot have the ability to play that roll.

Just want to add i have no idea what the stats are, im just going by what i see. i could be wrong, But i like the way we play loads more when Long plays center forward, I know Pelles hold up play is good, his passing can be questioned though.

I would rather Long be uptop tbh, we look more dangerous and play less hoof balls and attack so much faster when Long plays

RK does make some strange decisions and tinkers far too much....

Bought my tickets a while ago...where are they?

I noticed I have to get on a bus on the way back....not ideal...!

Trains from London are running out of Kings Cross rather than Liverpool St, with a change at Ely in Cambridgeshire, so I assume there are engineering works somewhere on the Liverpool St - Norwich line.

Koeman panicked a bit and out of desperation played 4-4-2 against Arsenal but only got 35% possession and won 4-0 could have been 7. WHU, went back to what he is comfortable with, more possession but slower less incisive penetrating attacks and lost like previous games. I'd like to see more of the Arsenal tactics and less of the pass it around. I don't see having lots of possession and losing great tactics. Some of our best wins have been with less possession.

Need a win really, we are on a knife edge of joining a relegation battle or putting in some breathing space and an outside shot at Europa. I would like to see us playing at a faster pace which precludes Wanyama and also means leaving Long in over Pelle at the moment.

Can't drop Vic, because Romeu is suspended. Not that I think Ronald would drop him anyway.

------------Steklenberg

Cedric Fonte Van Dijk Bertrand

--------Wanyama Clasie-------

JWP----------Mane----------Davis

--------------Long----------------

Play Cedric, give him the protection in JWP, Mane central with Long.

Plus it's my birthday tomorrow so a win would be a nice way to celebrate it.

Switch Bertrand to RB and bring in Targett or put him in at RB can't be any worse that what we've done.

Interesting call. Targett did quite well at one stage in the season. Norwich have a very useful player in Redmond. They are fast and very good at counter attacking.
