what everton obsession?

I have not mentioned them for ages, when I did it was hardly all the time.

To be fair you did go through a phase of banging on about them all of the time.

Naw - forums are forums - a platform for expressing views and sharing frustration etc. Helps to let off steam with like minded / interested people. Some do seem to dominate and get carried away but hey some internet warriors get off on that! Mostly this forum is pretty good and we all hurt when our beloved team does not win every game massively, but that's football right! Outside of 4 to 5 people on here most are great, and the banter is mainly great - keep it up folks!

Leicester are the new Saints and actually good to see them do well - just hope their players get pillaged like ours in years past!

it is actually leicester.

Do you think that Leicester are playing particularly well, or do you think they are so high because the quality of the Premiership has dropped this year?

Because you feel only your opinion is valid. Which kind of defeats the point of a Forum...

If you try to become less emotional about the opinions of others then you will enjoy it more.

You nailed it Saint Charlie. I don't hold much hope that he will listen though .

Seems to genuinely take offense to any opinion that differs from his own .

No this forum hasn't lost it.

Fact is, Saints are currently serving up poor dishes. It may be down to the Head Chef. Head Chef might blame the owner for giving him cheap ingredients. Perhaps the ingredients themselves need a bit of a talking to.

I dont think the premiership has dropped much

just these days, teams like palace and stoke can sign players like Cabeye and shaquiri from PSG and Bayern Munich. 5 years or so ago, that would never have been possible

I believe next season will see even more of a mix up through the season.

The top clubs cant really get much better. The middling clubs can

as for leicester, they play with huge energy and lots of pace. which is serving them incredibly well.

pace is such an important ingredient in the premier league

You could be right about the quality, although I think that consistency is a problem for a number of teams this season (us especially). Manchester United managed to get to the top at one point despite playing poorly and it is no surprise to see them losing games now. I agree about pace. Ball retention used to be the thing but now it is more important to be able to counter attack at speed and that has been a big reason for Leicester's success. You can pass the ball around all day long but unless you get a shot off possession means nothing.

Any plan that sees us aspire to be a Champions League club with the resources we have compared to the top clubs is bound to have flaws and risks but if we want long term success then I think we are going about it the right way. The alternative is to gamble which which may bring short term joy but will always bring long term tears. Perhaps people should lower their expectations. If we stayed in the premier league for the next 20 years it would be a massive achievement, statistically a club of our size is almost bound to go down. I'm old enough to have seen us play Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea in the second division. In fact Arsenal and Everton are the only teams that haven't gone down since I've been watching. Have a moan if we lose but keep it in perspective, we could be so much worse off.

We could be and have been. My brother phoned up to commiserate last time we were relegated. He supports Fulham and I told him that they could well be next. They weren't next exactly but went down shortly after. We did very well to stay up for so long initially, especially with a ground that only held 15k supporters for a while. I had forgotten that Everton hadn't gone down and thought it was only Arsenal. We are all at risk every season and there is no guarantee that any teams will stay up.
