Wade Garrett Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 We can't afford to procrastinate, recruitment is extremely urgent.
Saint Charlie Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Koeman post match saying he is talking to the Board about January. Why are these talks still happening?! Should be ready to move by now.
northam soul Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Koeman post match saying he is talking to the Board about January. Why are these talks still happening?! Should be ready to move by now.[/quote Probably because the board don't want to spend any money.
danjosaint Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Think rob earnshaw is available hed be cheap for les lol
UpweySaint Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Koeman post match saying he is talking to the Board about January. Why are these talks still happening?! Should be ready to move by now. We could infer there is some difference between their two positions - again we can only infer, but it would appear Koeman wants to see more investment in the first team and the board are reluctant. I can't help but feel we need to make a few moves to turn us around and try to keep us out of a proper relegation scrap. I don't think anybody expected us to be in the situation we currently find ourselves and the board may have to invest or risk taking a massive hit should the unthinkable happen.
simo Posted 9 January, 2016 Author Posted 9 January, 2016 I cant see what Ron has to talk to the board about my 8 year old knows we need to sign a striker at the very least !
Batman Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 I hope we get a forward who is god enough to start from almost the off and be pretty much part of the 1st 11. Not another player to play back up to pelle/mane
simo Posted 9 January, 2016 Author Posted 9 January, 2016 I cant see what Ron has to talk to the board about my 8 year old knows we need to sign a striker at the very least ! Obviously thats if the talk isn't " give me more money or im off"
S-Clarke Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 I think it's pretty clear Caulker is off, isn't it? Not included in the squad at all for these last couple of games, and what with talk of Sunderland wanting him (for some bizarre reason) it may be that we're talking to QPR to try and get that terminated. I Imagine we'd have to get some sort of payment back on it as well.
thorpie the sinner Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Charlie Austin, not sure anyone has mentioned him lol!! Pay the wages and get it sorted
Roger Posted 9 January, 2016 Posted 9 January, 2016 Seriously, say without sales we were prepared to spend £15m. Would you rather give than to Koeman now, or someone else in the summer? Koeman now as we could be relegated.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 The whispers as to potential signings are almost non-existent. Either we're playing our cards even more closely to our chest than usual or there just isn't anything pending, which would be worrying. Or maybe the single signing RK mentioned is being rapidly reassessed internally given our woeful run of form and targets are still being identified never mind sounded out with their club.
Saint Charlie Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3392127/Swansea-bid-club-record-12-5m-Burnley-striker-Andre-Gray-desperate-quest-goals-relegation-battle.html Swansea linked with a move for Gray. Unfortunately he has already played for two clubs this season, so it couldn't actually happen. Shows how much of a pinch of salt is required with any media report!
Saint Garrett Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Would take a look at Jefferson Montero...certainly the sort of player we could do with

Elia and Djuricic, what great signings they were, the Serb looked ok at times to be sure but as he hardly ever played that wasn't very often.
Chez Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Oliver Burke at Forest is a genuine talent and exactly the sort of young attacking player that we are missing coming through our set up at the minute. Lewis Cook at Leeds is another player we should be looking at.
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Why is nobody talking about Sam Vokes any more? I was just wondering why it had all gone quiet, not really putting his name forward.
S-Clarke Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Why is nobody talking about Sam Vokes any more? I was just wondering why it had all gone quiet, not really putting his name forward. Because he's not at the level we need, or most PL clubs would need.
shurlock Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Why is nobody talking about Sam Vokes any more? I was just wondering why it had all gone quiet, not really putting his name forward. Because he's not very good? And people usually refer to him in the context of taking the pîśś -how for some quality goes out the window as long as a player bleeds red and white.

Unless of course the striker we get in is just a loanee too !
DuncanRG Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 (edited) I've said it for years and will say it again - we should try to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson*. While Swansea are in a weaker position now than they have been in the past, the TV money coming in will embolden them to keep players. *Probably not in this window Edited 10 January, 2016 by DuncanRG
simo Posted 10 January, 2016 Author Posted 10 January, 2016 Villa would take 6m for Ayew , he worth a look?
S-Clarke Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Villa would take 6m for Ayew , he worth a look? There's a reason they want him out, he's pretty naff.
corky morris Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Been saying for a while we should look at that Roofe lad at Oxford. 2 more goals today I see.
simo Posted 10 January, 2016 Author Posted 10 January, 2016 There's a reason they want him out, he's pretty naff. A fall out with the management is what I've heard ?
JxgrSaint Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Liverpool willing to listen to offers for Sturridge - give them back the Lovren money for him? If not injured HCDAJFU?
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Liverpool willing to listen to offers for Sturridge - give them back the Lovren money for him? If not injured HCDAJFU? They would never sell Sturridge if he weren't injury-prone.

Whitey Grandad Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Imagine thinking we'd sign a player that can shoot from distance. That rules him out instantly
Saint Charlie Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Martin O'Neill said on BBC he has seen a lot of Demerai Gray as watched Brum a lot this season and if they gave paid £3.75m for him then its a huge bargain. Certainly seems very cheap for an English player of that potential! Be interesting to see how he does.

Saint Charlie Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Yeah, Bournemouth were offering 7-8 million for him in the summer. Apparently those offers were ludicrously incentive based so perhaps the Leicester fee was more up front. But compared to £10m for Afobe, Gray seems to have far higher levels of potential. Less than £4m is barely even a risk.

But compared to £10m for Afobe, Gray seems to have far higher levels of potential. Less than £4m is barely even a risk. If it was a release clause that Gray had then Leicester would have to pay it all up front or come to an agreement with Birmingham over what would be acceptable (but Birmingham can refuse and insist it is all paid up front if they want).
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Sigurdsson Shelvey Bony Austin Townsend Any of them would do, but we need a striker, have done for a year now
SuperSAINT Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Sigurdsson Shelvey Bony Austin Townsend Any of them would do, but we need a striker, have done for a year now Don't know how much cash we have spare for wages? - maybe we need to cut Gaston loose to free up some ££'s?
Miltonaggro Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 TSigurdsson Shelvey Bony Austin Townsend Any of them would do, but we need a striker, have done for a year now These are exactly the type and level of players we need. So, not a chance...
Window Cleaner Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Don't know how much cash we have spare for wages? - maybe we need to cut Gaston loose to free up some ££'s? But wouldn't that involve paying him anyway? Let's face it few clubs are going to offer him as much as we are giving him for the next 6 months so he's as well to stay right where he is and pass the time sorting himself out for next season.
VectisSaint Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Don't know how much cash we have spare for wages? - maybe we need to cut Gaston loose to free up some ££'s? How do you propose we do that? We would have to pay him the remaining 6 months of his contract, well unless he considers himself some sort of charitable institution.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Imagine thinking we'd sign a player that can shoot from distance. From distance that's a luxury I'd take one that can shoot from the 6 yard box
Batman Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 very little about us in this window. our resident ITK had a fair bit to say about the club/Koeman but hardly anything on new player(s) will we bring in the forward Koeman clearly wants?
Give it to Ron Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 very little about us in this window. our resident ITK had a fair bit to say about the club/Koeman but hardly anything on new player(s) will we bring in the forward Koeman clearly wants? Reading those posts I can't see the club giving Ron any money to spend!! We certainly have seen a swing away from the transfer committee so championed before. Can maybe see a last minute panic from overseas but nothing more. Hope I am wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SuperSAINT Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 will we bring in the forward Koeman clearly wants? Interesting isn't it? Because if we lose the next 2, he might not be here to spend it.
JxgrSaint Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 Newcastle have apparently bid £12m for Shelvey; Everton £21m for Yarmolenko - would've liked both here
lickierambert Posted 10 January, 2016 Posted 10 January, 2016 There does seem to be a degree of arrogance to our transfer attitude in January. A "we're above these panic January buys" sentiment. I really hope it doesn't bite us come May
GGalpin Posted 11 January, 2016 Posted 11 January, 2016 Just putting a name out there. Sadio is likely to go this summer, so what about Sporting Lisbon winger Andre Carrillo? If Saints scouted Cedric heavily, they'll have surely seen him plenty of times, and his contract expires this summer so could cost just a big signing on fee. Leicester offered £12m last summer, so there could be a bit of competition...
ADutchSaint Posted 11 January, 2016 Posted 11 January, 2016 Carrilo is a interesting player. Strong and technical guy with pace but I'm pretty sure the club dropped him from the team or something cause he doesn't want to sign a new contract. So he probably will be sold in this window.
Saint-camo Posted 11 January, 2016 Posted 11 January, 2016 Not sure if he's been mentioned already, but Loic Remy would be a great signing if we could afford the wages.
Give it to Ron Posted 11 January, 2016 Posted 11 January, 2016 Not sure if he's been mentioned already, but Loic Remy would be a great signing if we could afford the wages. He is injured and they won't sell him yet according to my ITK Chelsea mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
