I was reading the Saints villa match report in the mail when I saw these lines which I thought were interesting

This could be another dreary December for Southampton, who were held to a 1-1 draw here against rock-bottom Aston Villa when they really should have scored several chances.

In recent seasons they have found the festive month a dismal one. Last year, they lost their first four and in each of the three years before that they won only once.

It would seem December isn't a good month for saints anyone know why? Do we just get a lot of tough fixtures? Last season there was talk about some of the new players not being used to the English winter schedule but it looks like we were struggling even back when we had our British core. Looking at the up coming fixtures I can't really argue with the sentiments in the mail.

Because we don't let the players take a drop of the strong stuff, if I was Koeman I would bring a crate of the finest Dutch beer and ask them to have a good **** up.

It's strange, doesn't seem to matter who plays and who the manager is. But different to when I was a boy and Lawrie was manager, we were always great in December, I think he won manager of the month a couple of times too !

We weren't that bad last year.

20 Dec beat Everton 3-0

26 Dec beat Palace 3-1

29 Dec drew with Chelsea 1-1

Then new yrs day beat Arsenal 2-0.

Actually bloody good!

The transfer window is close and the agents are talking to clubs to try and make money. You would have thought that would have brought on great performances except it might cause injuries.

Good point. Could it be that we have a higher proportion of players who want a move away in January than other clubs.

Money/greed or just covering their arses and keeping their options open. It's just a theory.

that has to be the same for all middling clubs with their players. I simply cannot be our player wanted.

Why if wanted would they not be playing well? Only time Adebayor plays
